Ultra Long Range Jets: Models, Range and Charter Prices
Ultra long range jets at a glance
The category reads in two blocks: the established aircraft, widely available for charter, and the 2025 generation that has just entered service.
| Aircraft | Passengers | Range | Entry into service |
| Falcon 7X | 12 to 14 | 11,500 km | 2007 |
| Falcon 8X | 12 to 14 | 11,945 km | 2016 |
| Global 6000 | 13 to 14 | 11,700 km | 2012 |
| Gulfstream G650 | 14 to 16 | 12,900 km | 2012 |
| Global 7500 | 13 to 14 | 14,260 km | December 2018 |
2025, the year the category changed scale
Three aircraft arrived in quick succession, and they redefine the limits of the segment.
Bombardier's Global 8000 received Transport Canada certification on 5 November 2025, followed by FAA certification on 19 December 2025, entering service immediately after. It quotes 8,000 nautical miles of range and, above all, a maximum speed of Mach 0.95, making it the fastest private jet ever produced and the fastest civil aircraft since Concorde.
The Gulfstream G800 earned FAA and EASA certification in April 2025, with 8,200 nautical miles of range at Mach 0.85 and a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.935.
The Gulfstream G700, delivered since 2025, claims 7,750 nautical miles and the largest cabin in its class.
These aircraft remain scarce on the charter market, with early deliveries going to owners first. In the near term the Global 7500 and the G650 remain the genuinely available references.
The record that shows what the category can do
One flight sums up what this range makes possible. In October 2019 a Global 7500 flew Sydney to Detroit non stop, covering 8,225 nautical miles, roughly 15,200 kilometres. It is the longest flight ever recorded in business aviation.
The same type holds 135 city-pair speed records, the most ever set by a single business aircraft model, and has also flown Singapore to Tucson in one leg over 8,152 nautical miles.
In practice this means no major city pair stays out of reach: Paris to or from Los Angeles, Geneva to or from Singapore, Dubai to or from New York are all flown without a fuel stop.
Three or four cabin zones, and a real bed
This is the main physical difference from a heavy jet. Where the latter offers two areas, an ultra long range aircraft offers three, often four: work, dining, lounge and bedroom.
In day configuration the seats are arranged in clubs and divans. In night configuration they convert into single or double berths, made up in flight by the cabin crew. The Global 7500 was the first to include a genuine separate bedroom as a fourth zone.
On a thirteen-hour flight that layout stops being a comfort argument and becomes a performance one: it determines the state you land in. Wi-fi is available across the range, generally billed as a supplement.
Ultra long range price: 9,000 to 12,000 euros per hour
Allow between 9,000 and 12,000 euros per hour depending on the aircraft and the season. On a thirteen-hour Paris to or from Singapore sector, the order of magnitude therefore runs into tens of thousands of euros.
The gap against a heavy jet at 6,500 euros is justified only by the absence of a stop. On Paris to or from New York both categories fly non stop and the heavy jet costs considerably less. The full grid is on our private jet rental cost page.
The constraints range does not erase
A point brochures pass over: published range assumes a reduced passenger count, minimum reserves and favourable winds. In winter, westerly winds over the North Atlantic can remove several hundred kilometres from the real figure.
These are also the heaviest aircraft in business aviation, which restricts access to some short or high-elevation airfields. An ultra long range jet opens the world, but closes a few fields a midsize jet still reaches.
Our comparison of heavy jet or ultra long range sets out precisely where the switch between the two categories happens.
Chartering an ultra long range jet with IBC Aviation
As an independent broker we compare availability across several operators and verify range on your precise sector, at your payload, on the intended date, before confirming. In this bracket that calculation is what separates a direct flight from a technical stop discovered late. Every model is listed on our ultra long range jets page.

Frequently asked questions
How much does an ultra long range jet cost per hour?
From 9,000 to 12,000 euros per flying hour depending on aircraft and season, including aircraft, crew, fuel, ground handling and charges. The gap against a heavy jet at 6,500 euros is justified only if the alternative is a technical stop.
What is the fastest private jet?
The Bombardier Global 8000, which entered service in December 2025, with a maximum speed of Mach 0.95. It is the fastest private jet ever produced and the fastest civil aircraft since Concorde.
What is the longest private jet flight ever flown?
Sydney to Detroit, 8,225 nautical miles or roughly 15,200 km, flown non stop by a Global 7500 in October 2019. It remains the longest flight recorded in business aviation.
How many passengers in an ultra long range jet?
From 12 to 16 depending on the aircraft and the operator's layout. The cabin divides into three or four distinct zones, with genuine beds in night configuration, which no lower category offers.
