Chicago Executive Private Jet, PWK Runways and Access
Chicago Executive, a main physical runway length of 1,524 m
Chicago Executive Airport, PWK / KPWK, is listed as open 24 hours and has two active runways. The main runway, 16/34, physically measures 5,001 feet, approximately 1,524 m. Our Geneva office prepares flights to or from Chicago Executive by having the aircraft assessed for the actual mission. Request a PWK flight assessment with your dates and the stages of your travel programme.
Two active runways, despite older lists showing three
The current configuration comprises 16/34 and 12/30; the FAA Chart Supplement lists 06/24 as permanently closed. That former runway should therefore not be counted among the options for your programme, even if it still appears in a directory.
This check matters when comparing airport pages online. Some still display three runways without reflecting the active configuration; we have the flight prepared using current data and operational notices, then match the result to the aircraft being proposed rather than relying on an older list.
The secondary runway provides less distance for landing
Runway 12/30 is physically 4,415 feet long, approximately 1,346 m. Both thresholds are displaced; its declared landing distances are 3,785 feet on 12 and 3,725 feet on 30. The operator uses the figure for the expected direction to establish performance.
| Identifiers | PWK / KPWK |
| Active runways | 16/34 and 12/30 |
| Main runway 16/34 | 5,001 × 150 feet physically, approximately 1,524 × 46 m |
| Secondary runway 12/30 | 4,415 × 75 feet physically, approximately 1,346 × 23 m |
| Landing on 12 | 3,785 feet declared, approximately 1,154 m |
| Landing on 30 | 3,725 feet declared, approximately 1,135 m |
| Former runway 06/24 | Permanently closed |
Cabin selection takes account of that assessment and the planned payload. Fuel required for the next stage can produce a different departure result from the arrival; we ask the operator for an answer covering the complete programme rather than a general statement about an aircraft category.
Prepare the stay with IBC Aviation
The original brief brings together passenger and luggage details, the final address and fixed commitments; we then compare aircraft and the arrangements needed to position them for Chicago Executive. The transfer point is confirmed at the selected private terminal so the driver has the correct meeting address.
You can send our team your stay programme to have the return assessed alongside the outward flight. The proposal states whether the aircraft needs to remain during the stay or reposition elsewhere. Parking conditions are obtained for the time actually needed, rather than assumed to follow from the first landing.
EMAS does not extend the normal runway
EMAS systems are installed at both ends of 16/34. They are designed to help stop an aircraft in a runway-overrun event. Their presence does not create additional length available for normal take-off or landing performance calculations.
The published ILS approach for runway 16 is likewise an infrastructure feature, rather than a promise of arrival in every condition; the operator assesses the weather and applicable procedure. We then confirm the arrangements compatible with the flight studied, with any necessary change discussed before the programme is retained.
Airfield opening and service hours differ
Chicago Executive lists continuous public opening. The tower and customs nevertheless follow their own hours and procedures. We have the services needed at the proposed time confirmed, particularly where the flight arrives from abroad and requires specific entry arrangements.
A private-terminal reservation does not replace the required customs permission. For an arrival from Europe, airport and aircraft are considered together, including the international route and any intermediate stage. Passenger instructions and reception are coordinated for the scenario actually selected in the proposal.
Find the cabin appropriate to the mission
A Phenom 300 or Pilatus PC-24 may enter a search for some regional sectors; we review the actual offered layout and luggage needs. The operator validates performance for the runway and conditions of the proposed flight.
If the mission needs different range or payload, our teams compare programme options before confirming the airfield. You can identify a preferred aircraft type in the initial request. It still needs to be matched to an available aircraft and the corresponding operational assessment, rather than treated as a confirmed booking.
Compare offers addressing the same requirements
Our indicative pricing references in EUR start at EUR 4,000 per hour for a light jet. These are neither total prices nor contractual US rates. Positioning and the charges associated with the selected arrangements enter the actual quotation.
For flights to or from Chicago Executive, have a proposal prepared with your return requirements. Our Geneva office coordinates the airfield, aircraft and ground reception so you can assess the complete programme before deciding.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a Chicago Executive private jet cost?
Our indicative reference in EUR starts at EUR 4,000 per hour for a light jet, relevant to some regional missions. It is neither a total trip price nor a contractual US local rate. The quotation depends on the available aircraft, positioning and selected reception arrangements.
How long is a private flight from PWK?
Flight time depends on the other airport and aircraft, together with winds and travel direction. The operator checks departure at the planned payload. For a long-distance programme, we identify any intermediate stage required in the schedule supplied with the proposal before your decision.
Does Chicago Executive still have three active runways?
No. The active configuration comprises 16/34 and 12/30. Runway 06/24 is permanently closed according to the current FAA publication. Older lists showing three runways should therefore not be used to infer the reception options available for the proposed flight at PWK.
Do the EMAS systems provide extra runway for the aircraft?
No. The EMAS systems at both ends of 16/34 are safety installations intended for an overrun. They do not extend usable distances in normal performance calculations. The operator uses the runway data applicable to the proposed flight and aircraft when carrying out that assessment.
