Houston Hobby Private Jet, Customs and FBO Access

Hobby, three runways and a specific private arrival point

William P. Hobby Airport, HOU / KHOU, has three runways in Houston, including two measuring 2,317 m physically. Business aviation ramps are separate from the airline-terminal ramp. Our Geneva office arranges flights to or from Hobby by confirming the private terminal and, for an arrival from abroad, the clearance procedure. Tell us about your Houston Hobby itinerary, including the date and origin of the flight.

Match the car and passengers to the actual terminal

“Houston airport” is not a sufficiently precise instruction for a driver or arriving passengers. Hobby is a particular airfield with several reception areas around its runways; we provide the address of the selected ground handler and the meeting point, so the transfer is arranged for the terminal your flight will actually use.

Our Houston charter guide considers airport choices across the region. This page concentrates on Hobby itself. Your meeting location and any flight after Houston help determine the airfield, rather than applying another airport's facilities or published transfer estimate to HOU.

Customs permission comes before foreign departure

The CBP fact sheet dated 18 November 2024 describes inspections generally available around the clock, with prior permission. It requests contact at least one hour before departure from abroad and at least two hours before the expected arrival. Both timing requirements apply to the flight. Sending an estimated arrival time alone is not approval.

For your flight, we have the operator confirm the current procedure and obtain the corresponding permission. A private-terminal booking does not replace CBP clearance arrangements. The programme is built around the reception actually confirmed, particularly when a European departure produces a late arrival in Texas. Any material schedule change is passed back to the parties handling the arrival.

The current runway designations are 04/22, 13R/31L and 13L/31R. Old references to 12/30 or 17/35 should not be used to plan the flight. The landing distance on 13R is also shorter than its physical length; the operator uses the figures applicable to the planned runway and conditions.

Build the Houston programme with IBC Aviation

Preparation begins with the mission: departure point, fixed meeting commitments and your next destination after Houston. We ask about luggage and the cabin arrangement you need to compare relevant aircraft proposals. The operator then checks the selected aircraft at the planned weight and in the anticipated conditions.

Our teams coordinate reception at Hobby and the return arrangements once an option is selected. Request a proposal for your Texas programme and identify any times that cannot move. Aircraft parking throughout the stay or repositioning should be considered at this stage, since those decisions affect both the offer and how the return is organised.

An American sector and a European crossing differ

A Challenger 350 may enter the selection for an American mission. An ultra-long-range requirement may call for a Falcon 8X, for example. Each available aircraft is considered with its actual cabin and route requirements, rather than being accepted solely because a runway length appears sufficient.

Wingspan is a separate access question for larger aircraft. Above 125 feet, the FAA requires prior permission with 24 hours' notice. That check concerns entry to the airfield and sits alongside flight-performance calculations and international arrival formalities. We include it in the assessment where relevant to the aircraft being proposed.

Read the offer beyond the hourly figure

Our pricing references place super-midsize jets from EUR 5,500 per hour and ultra-long-range aircraft around EUR 9,000 to EUR 12,000 per hour. These indicative EUR references are not contractual US local rates; the itinerary, aircraft positioning and reception charges determine the complete proposal.

For travel to or from Hobby, have your quote prepared with the ground arrangements. Our Geneva office coordinates the crossing, the Texas visit and the return within the same programme.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Houston Hobby private flight cost?

Our indicative reference in EUR starts at EUR 5,500 per hour for the super-midsize category. An ultra-long-range crossing requires a different budget. These references are neither a total price nor a contractual US rate; we prepare the quotation for your actual programme.

How long is a flight between Hobby and Europe?

The schedule depends on the European airport, aircraft and travel direction, together with winds and any technical stop. We calculate flight time for the proposal being considered. Arrival planning in Houston also accounts for the customs permission obtained before departure from abroad.

Is contacting customs two hours before arrival sufficient?

The CBP sheet dated 18 November 2024 requests two hours before expected arrival, but also at least one hour before foreign departure. Permission must be obtained before that departure. We have the applicable procedure and the approval needed for your flight confirmed.

Do both 7,602-foot runways provide identical distances?

Not in every direction. Runway 13R/31L is physically 7,602 feet long, but its declared landing distance on 13R is 6,568 feet. The operator uses the figure for the planned runway direction and checks performance for the conditions of the proposed flight.
