Martha’s Vineyard Airport: Private Jet Charter
Martha’s Vineyard, reach the island through MVY
Martha’s Vineyard Airport, MVY / KMVY, has two runways and advertises 24-hour FBO and fuel services. Certain charters need 24-hour prior permission according to the aircraft’s seating capacity. For a private jet to or from the island, send us your planned stay: we check the flight category, aircraft and ground reception before establishing the arrangements.
Our Geneva office can coordinate travel from Europe and the American sectors that follow it. IBC Aviation is an independent broker; the selected air operator remains responsible for performance calculations and operating the flight.
Two runways with different possibilities
| Airport | Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts |
| Codes | MVY / KMVY |
| Runway 06/24 | 5,504 ft, approximately 1,678 m physical length |
| Runway 15/33 | 3,327 ft, approximately 1,014 m physical length |
| Services | FBO and fuel advertised around the clock |
| FAA permission | 24-hour notice for certain non-scheduled commercial flights |
The figures come from the FAA publication effective from 3 September to 29 October 2026.
The two runways are not interchangeable without assessment: wind, surface conditions and aircraft weight can change the solution. Seat count alone therefore does not establish which aircraft suits your party.
FAA Part 139 Index B certification confirms an airport operating framework. It does not mean that any jet can be accepted at its maximum load. We ask the air operator for a check matching the proposed mission.
Permission depends on aircraft seats rather than party size
The FAA publication requires 24-hour PPR for non-scheduled commercial flights by aircraft with more than nine passenger seats.
This prior permission needs preparation before the mission is confirmed. Six people chartering an aircraft configured above that threshold should not be treated as a six-seat aircraft.
Nor does the rule simply cover every private aviation movement: it concerns the non-scheduled commercial category stated in the notice. We qualify the request with the air operator, then obtain the response applicable to the flight. This check avoids selecting a schedule that cannot be retained under the proposed conditions.
A change of cabin or timing for the return should be communicated to the team following permission. The agreed programme also underpins fuel and departure service requests; those arrangements need to remain consistent with one another.
One programme for reception, fuel and the car
The airport supplies fuel itself and invites advance trip notification. This allows ground requirements to be prepared using the timing, aircraft type and services needed. We establish crew requirements separately from passenger preferences.
Round-the-clock FBO and fuel availability does not remove seasonal tower hours or the voluntary night restraint programme. A late return is prepared against the conditions for the date, rather than inferring unrestricted movements from fuel availability alone.
Have your Martha’s Vineyard arrival assessed, including the accommodation address and expected luggage. The driver’s meeting point and pickup time should be confirmed for the private flight, particularly if other travellers use a scheduled airline service.
Reserve aircraft parking and understand the charges
The ramp plan distinguishes resident spaces, emergency access and secured airline areas. These areas are not a reserve of freely assignable spaces for visiting aircraft. For a stay, we ask where the aircraft can remain and which procedure applies to departure.
Landing and parking charges are different items. A ramp fee discount linked to a fuel purchase does not mean that all airport charges disappear. The proposal should identify the conditions retained for the aircraft and the time spent on site.
Our indicative aircraft category rates provide a light jet reference from approximately EUR 4,000 per hour.
This euro amount helps frame cabin selection; it is neither a firm US tariff nor the complete trip price. Positioning and the island programme are priced in the actual quotation.
Prepare departure with the same attention as arrival
A stay may justify keeping the aircraft on the island or repositioning it elsewhere.
We compare those arrangements using the requested return, charges and parking possibilities. Aircraft availability for the outbound flight alone does not describe the return arrangements agreed with you.
Request a proposal for your island dates, with ground services and aircraft conditions clearly identified.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a private jet to Martha’s Vineyard cost?
The indicative light jet reference starts around EUR 4,000 per hour. For Martha’s Vineyard, the full amount also depends on positioning, parking and the selected return programme; this euro benchmark is neither a total route price nor a contractual local tariff.
What flight time should I allow to reach my accommodation on schedule?
We obtain flight time using the departure point, aircraft and mission conditions. Useful arrival time on the island then includes reception and the transfer to your address; the permission applicable to the flight is checked before finalising this programme.
Does the 24-hour notice depend on how many passengers are travelling?
The FAA rule concerns non-scheduled commercial flights by aircraft with more than nine passenger seats. Aircraft configuration matters. The category of movement is also decisive, rather than simply the number of people booking the trip.
Does continuous fuel service permit any night departure?
No. FBO and fuel services are advertised around the clock, but the tower operates seasonally and a voluntary night restraint programme exists. We have conditions specific to the requested timing checked.
Does a fuel purchase remove all airport charges?
No. Parking and landing charges are separate, and a fuel-related ramp discount is not a general exemption. The proposal identifies the items corresponding to the selected programme.
