Palm Springs Airport: Private Jets and Runway Distances
Palm Springs, assess runway, heat and terrain together
A private jet to or from Palm Springs International (PSP / KPSP) needs preparation with two FBOs and desert terrain conditions considered. The main runway has 10,000 ft physical length, but LDA in 13R is 6,857 ft. Our Geneva office has the carrier assess these distances and loading. Request a Palm Springs proposal with your dates and programme.
Two FBOs at an airport also serving airlines
The operator confirms two FBOs providing aircraft services, fuel and storage. These bases arrange general aviation reception. The airport is also FAA Part 139 certificated and receives scheduled airlines, so the jet process needs specification.
Your reporting location is not a generic “Palm Springs Airport” address.
Facilities and hangars are distributed on the east and west sides. We have the selected point and flight services confirmed before sending instructions. The driver needs access for the private programme rather than another terminal chosen without confirmation. Other party members arriving by airline may need their own collection arrangement.
| Airport | Palm Springs International |
| Codes | PSP / KPSP |
| Activities | Scheduled airlines and general aviation |
| FBOs | Two, confirmed by the operator |
| Main runway 13R/31L | 10,000 ft physical length, approximately 3,048 m |
| LDA in 13R | 6,857 ft, approximately 2,090 m |
| LDA in 31L | 8,500 ft, approximately 2,591 m |
| Terrain to consider | San Jacinto Peak to the west, above 10,000 ft |
LDA changes substantially between 13R and 31L
Current FAA data give 6,857 ft available for landing in 13R and 8,500 ft in 31L.
Both figures are below the main runway’s 10,000 ft physical length. Describing 3,048 m as available to land in both directions would therefore be misleading.
The carrier assesses declared distances for the mission and expected conditions. Passengers do not choose a direction to obtain the longest figure. We request a proposal consistent with operations, payload and route possibilities. The quote should then specify the aircraft configuration actually considered rather than describe unrestricted category access.
Build the stay alongside flight services
Our team gathers origins and sectors, followed by passenger and baggage requirements. As an independent broker, we compare carriers’ offers for a defined programme. An international arrival requires formalities and reception for the operation to be confirmed.
For a longer stay, aircraft parking or repositioning belongs in the quotation. Have your Palm Springs visit coordinated with the return date and possible schedule flexibility. Passenger reporting follows the arrangements actually confirmed. Where the aircraft moves between sectors, the return conditions should remain clear before the offer is selected.
Heat and San Jacinto Peak enter preparation
The FAA highlights nearby terrain, particularly San Jacinto Peak to the west, rising above 10,000 ft.
A desert setting does not mean operation independently of obstacles. Heat and terrain require performance assessment for the flight configuration.
On an intercontinental return, fuel and payload may lead to a different solution from arrival. We present the assessed nonstop route or technical stop. Cabin category and advertised range do not establish every long range departure at full payload. A change in baggage or party size during the visit should be included in the return assessment.
Distinguish parallel geometry, thresholds and reception locations
The configuration includes two geometrically staggered parallel runways. The FAA publication lists displaced thresholds on the main runway, explaining the need to read its declared distances. That displacement should not automatically be attributed to the smaller runway.
Hangars and services on both sides also require the aircraft’s reception position to be confirmed. FBO-advertised storage capacity is not a booking for your dates. We have the stand, services and return conditions specified with the selected proposal. This keeps ground instructions consistent with the aircraft arrangements rather than a general airport facilities list.
What price benchmark applies to Palm Springs?
Our aircraft category references place heavy jets from approximately EUR 6,500 per hour and ultra long range aircraft around EUR 9,000 to 12,000 per hour.
These indicative euro amounts are not contractual US tariffs. The quotation includes positioning and programme charges, with waiting or aircraft movements during the stay specified.
We compare totals for identical dates and routing. Included services and schedule-change conditions should be considered alongside cabin price before your decision.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a private jet at Palm Springs cost?
A heavy jet gives a reference from approximately EUR 6,500 per hour and ultra long range aircraft around EUR 9,000 to 12,000 per hour. The quotation adds positioning and charges, with aircraft arrangements during the stay. These references are not a firm US tariff.
What flying time should I allow to reach Palm Springs?
The carrier assesses it from your origin with the proposed aircraft, winds and payload. Airport conditions and required fuel may lead to a technical stop. We specify the routing solution and schedule before comparing proposals.
Does the main runway provide 10,000 ft for every landing?
The FAA gives 6,857 ft LDA in 13R and 8,500 ft in 31L. The 10,000 ft figure is physical length; the carrier uses applicable declared distances for performance calculation rather than the longest number alone.
Why check heat and terrain at a desert airport?
The FAA highlights nearby terrain, with San Jacinto Peak above 10,000 ft to the west. Temperature, payload and obstacles enter the flight assessment. Main-runway length does not establish every long range aircraft departure at full payload.
Should the driver use the commercial terminal?
General aviation reception uses FBO services, with facilities on both east and west sides. The selected point is confirmed for the mission; we send the same address to passengers and driver rather than use a default terminal.
