The handling package, a requirement checked for 2026

The official tariff applicable in 2026 confirms that the General Aviation Handling package, or GAH, is mandatory for aircraft with maximum take-off mass strictly above 3,500 kg. The certified mass is the relevant figure, rather than the estimated weight of passengers and suitcases.

This requirement belongs in the arrangements for the proposed aircraft. We have the request prepared with the operator and handler so that the services correspond to the actual turnaround.

For travellers, the practical benefit is an identified reception and services set out in the quote. Baggage, vehicles and documentation can then be prepared with the relevant parties rather than treated as separate last-minute requests.

Late registration, a 25% handling surcharge

The 2026 tariff provides for a surcharge of 25% of the GAH package if registration is made less than 24 hours before arrival, or is not made. This percentage does not apply to the total private charter price.

An early enquiry allows the services to be prepared and avoids adding a late registration to the file. For an urgent request, we assess actual availability with the operator and ground services, then present the conditions applying to the programme.

This tariff deadline is not a promise that a flight can be secured 24 hours before departure. Aircraft, crew and local capacity still need confirmation for the requested dates.

The GAC has its own reception areas

The airport's technical information distinguishes general aviation facilities and apron areas from those of the main terminal. Your driver therefore needs the precise meeting point for the private flight.

Handling includes assistance with the border and customs checks required for the trip. The formalities depend on the itinerary and travel documents. We prepare the relevant information with the programme, particularly for an arrival from outside the Schengen area.

Your Salzburg flight and reception enquiry can include transport to your final destination. Specify whether the party will arrive in several vehicles or whether a connection with an airline flight also needs to be organised.

In winter, prepare ground requirements without assuming immediate departure

Coordination of de-icing is among the published services. Arranging that intervention does not mean its cost is included in the handling package. Additional services and their conditions should be specified for the flight.

Weather and ground operations may affect the programme. The operator assesses aircraft performance using actual conditions and the available distances. Physical runway length alone cannot establish that a particular aircraft can perform every mission without restriction.

If you are taking ski equipment, provide the number and dimensions of the bags. Cabin selection needs to accommodate luggage, the itinerary and the return programme, even where the travelling party is small.

A return schedule that fits the opening window

The ordinary 06:00 to 23:00 operating window should frame your programme. The published ambulance-flight exception does not give a normal leisure or business charter a right to depart at night.

For an evening event or late appointment, provide the expected finish time. We compare the options rather than place departure at the last possible minute. A margin allows for ground arrangements and the crew's preparations.
