Subang Airport: Private Jets, Customs and Operating Hours
Subang, customs hours differ from air traffic services
A private jet to or from Subang, Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (SZB / WMSA), uses a different airport from Kuala Lumpur International. The August 2026 AIP publishes a 3,782 m runway and H24 air traffic services, but customs/immigration from 07:00 to 23:00 local time. Our Bangkok office checks reception and border arrangements before settling a late arrival. Request your Subang charter proposal, specifying your origin and preferred time.
SZB and KUL cannot be substituted without checking
Subang has the indicator WMSA and the operator uses SZB. Kuala Lumpur International is WMKK / KUL. A request naming only “Kuala Lumpur” therefore leaves an airport decision to be made before the road transfer is arranged.
The AIP places Subang’s reference point 17 km west of KL Tower. This geographic measurement does not describe the driver’s route. We compare your meeting address with the accepted arrival airport and confirmed reception point. The appropriate choice may differ between a city visit and an onward scheduled flight at KUL.
| Airport | Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah, Subang, SZB / WMSA |
| Runway 15/33 | 3,782 × 45 m in the 6 August 2026 AIP |
| Location reference | 17 km west of KL Tower, geographic distance |
| Administration and air traffic services | H24 |
| Customs and immigration | 07:00 to 23:00 Malaysian time |
| Terminal building | 05:00 to midnight; 24-hour prior permission outside this window |
| Listed fuels | Jet A-1 and AVGAS, flight-specific availability to confirm |
An arrival after 23:00 needs a separate assessment
Airport opening hours apply to several different services. At Subang, air traffic services and administration are published H24, while customs/immigration are not. A time technically possible for an aircraft movement therefore does not establish passenger entry arrangements from abroad.
We ask the operator and handler to confirm the process applying to your flight before building the itinerary.
Malaysia uses UTC+8: the published customs period of 23:00 to 15:00 UTC corresponds to 07:00 to 23:00 local time. Confusing the two time references shifts the service window by eight hours and leaves the programme inconsistent.
Preparing the flight with IBC Aviation
Our Bangkok office first distinguishes an international arrival, domestic sector and any onward flight.
It then approaches carriers with passenger numbers, baggage and the times that matter to you. IBC Aviation arranges the charter as an independent broker; the air operator performs the flight and validates the aircraft.
The enquiry should also specify whether a meeting could change your return time. We have the request checked against terminal hours and the services needed. Send the times and sectors to be coordinated at Subang for a proposal whose conditions match your actual visit.
The 24-hour notice concerns out-of-hours terminal use
The terminal building is published from 21:00 to 16:00 UTC, corresponding to 05:00 to midnight in Malaysia. Use outside that window requires prior permission from Malaysia Airports with 24 hours’ notice under the consulted AIP.
This should not be presented as a universal booking deadline for every Subang flight.
It concerns a specific use outside the building’s published hours. We establish which permissions the mission actually requires and their status, rather than promising departure simply because a day has passed.
Runway length and fuel do not replace aircraft assessment
Runway 15/33 measures 3,782 by 45 m. Selection may involve a regional jet or an ultra long range aircraft, depending on the route and loading. The operator checks performance in the expected conditions using current aeronautical information.
A Praetor 600 may be compared with a Falcon 8X where cabin and range requirements differ.
Their availability requires enquiry, and neither example promises a nonstop route. Jet A-1 and AVGAS are listed in the AIP, but fuelling for the rotation must be coordinated with an authorised handler.
What changes the price at Subang
Flying time is only one component of the quotation. Aircraft positioning, a stay on the ground and requested services can change the cost of a one-way or return trip. We compare those items for the same programme, explicitly naming the airport selected.
Our aircraft category cost benchmarks help frame the budget without turning a European hourly reference into a firm local price. For a regional itinerary involving Singapore, the second airport’s arrangements require separate checks: Subang acceptance does not cover the other end of the flight.
Our category references place super midsize aircraft from approximately EUR 5,500 per hour. This is not the price of a Subang route: the actual sectors and charges determine the proposal.
For a programme aligned with the services available, have your trip to or from SZB quoted.

Frequently asked questions
What does a charter to or from Subang cost?
The indicative super midsize category benchmark starts around EUR 5,500 per hour. A Subang quotation also needs positioning and arranged services, with the requested waiting or return conditions. Offers are compared for the same SZB / WMSA programme, dates and requested services.
How long should I allow between arrival and a Kuala Lumpur meeting?
The published 17 km west of KL Tower is a geographic reference. It does not establish driving time from the reception point. Our teams align the flight, formalities and your destination address when preparing the transfer, without promising a fixed duration in traffic.
Does Subang customs operate 24 hours a day?
Not in the August 2026 AIP consulted: customs/immigration are published from 07:00 to 23:00 local; Air traffic services and administration are H24, which is different. We confirm the services needed for your international arrival before fixing the flight time.
Must every Subang flight be requested 24 hours ahead?
The 24-hour prior permission described here concerns use of the terminal building outside its published 05:00 to midnight local window. It is not a universal charter booking deadline at Subang. The permissions and services applying to your mission are checked separately.
Can a driver at KUL collect passengers arriving at Subang?
No. KUL / WMKK identifies Kuala Lumpur International, while SZB / WMSA identifies Subang. They are separate airports; we confirm the airport code and reception point before issuing driver instructions, particularly when passengers have an onward connection at KUL.
