Sydney Airport: Private Jets, Slots and Curfew
Sydney, build the schedule around the curfew
A private jet to or from Sydney Kingsford Smith (YSSY) needs preparation around the 23:00 to 06:00 local curfew and an airport slot reservation. A late arrival cannot be retained on the assumption that small jets receive an automatic exemption. Our Bangkok office has the carrier check the rules applying on the flight date. Request a Sydney flight proposal, including your meeting time.
Check the Sydney arrival before leaving the origin airport
The Australian department says not to depart the origin airport with an estimated Sydney arrival at 23:00 or later without an appropriate dispensation.
The risk of delay therefore belongs in preparation before the first movement. Simply aiming to arrive immediately before the curfew does not resolve it.
We request a schedule compatible with the routing and a margin suited to expected conditions. A meeting constraint pushing departure towards the end of the day should be disclosed in the enquiry. The programme can then be discussed before the aircraft and ground services are fixed. That allows the final appointment to be planned against an assessed flight time rather than an assumed last possible arrival.

Night exemptions are subject to an announced change
The legal framework provides for certain standing freight, propeller aircraft and small-jet exceptions to end when Western Sydney International is declared available for night aircraft movements.
As of 26 October 2026, federal communications and Airservices identify 1 November 2026 for this change. It is treated here as an announced date whose application needs confirmation for your flight date.
An older airport description presenting small jets as permitted at night may therefore no longer match your travel date. We have the regime in force checked for the mission rather than build an offer around a historical exception. Emergencies and exceptional dispensations remain separate from an ordinary charter operation.
The slot and curfew are different requirements
Sydney’s airport plan states that commercial and private aircraft require a slot. This reservation manages movement capacity. It does not replace assessment of the curfew or any dispensation that may be required.
Our team aligns the requested slot, ground reception and carrier programme. We also prepare the return arrangements for a stay lasting several days. Have your Kingsford Smith arrival and departure assessed with preferred times and any flexibility in your agenda. If different passengers leave on different dates, include the additional sectors so aircraft arrangements can be compared across the whole visit.
Western Sydney is not Kingsford Smith
Western Sydney International is another airport. An announcement about its hours or facilities does not automatically describe YSSY access conditions. Flight documents need to identify the selected airfield, with the same airport appearing on the driver’s booking.
If a change of airport is considered during preparation, we reassess the routing and formalities with the relevant handler. Your stay address also enters the comparison. An arrival cannot simply be moved to another airfield without reviewing the travel arrangements and carrier conditions. We set out the alternative as a distinct proposal so its transfer and schedule can be understood before selection.
Match the cabin to the mission and budget
For an intercontinental programme, a Falcon 8X illustrates a cabin to assess against payload and routing.
Nonstop capability remains a carrier assessment. Proposed flying times are integrated into the itinerary rather than inferred from brochure range.
Our charter cost references place ultra long range aircraft around EUR 9,000 to 12,000 per hour. This euro benchmark is not a contractual Australian tariff. The quotation brings together positioning and airport charges, followed by waiting or repositioning during the stay. Conditions for schedule amendments should also be specified, particularly where a later return would affect the curfew assessment.

Frequently asked questions
How much should I budget for a Sydney private jet?
The ultra long range category gives an approximate EUR 9,000 to 12,000 per hour reference for an intercontinental mission. The actual amount includes the assessed routing, positioning and stay charges. It is not a firm local tariff; the programme must also meet slot and curfew requirements.
How is flying time assessed for a Sydney arrival before 23:00?
Flying time is assessed from the origin airfield with the aircraft and expected conditions. The department says not to leave the origin airport with an estimated arrival at 23:00 or later without an appropriate dispensation. We have the schedule assessed before departure. An exceptional dispensation request is not a commercial solution to assume in an ordinary programme.
Can a small jet rely on the former night exemptions?
The regime applying on the flight date must be checked; As of 26 October 2026, certain exemptions are announced to end on 1 November 2026 in connection with Western Sydney’s night availability. We do not retain an old exemption as an automatic charter entitlement.
Does an accepted slot override the curfew?
No. The slot and night regime are separate requirements. We have both checked with the carrier and then align ground reception with the selected time. The return needs the same preparation as the arrival.
Are YSSY and Western Sydney interchangeable in a quotation?
No. They are separate airports. The choice affects the flight programme, services to confirm and your ground transfer; a Kingsford Smith proposal must name that airfield; any alternative is organised separately before your decision.
