Private Jet to Bali & Indonesia
Bali by private jet, from Europe, the Gulf and Bangkok
From Europe, Bali is an ultra-long-range mission requiring at least one fuel stop, even on the most capable aircraft. From the Gulf, the leg is flown nonstop on a large cabin; from Bangkok, it is a short hop. The table below sums up the hubs and their airports.
| Destination | Private-jet airport | Good to know |
| Bali | Denpasar (DPS) | Gateway, VVIP terminal |
| Komodo | Labuan Bajo (LBJ) | Then yacht to the national park |
| Raja Ampat | Sorong (SOQ) | Then boat to Waisai |
| Lombok / Gili | Lombok (LOP) | Then fast boat to the Gilis |
| From Asia | Bangkok (IBC hub) | About 4.5 hours to Bali |
Matching the aircraft, the range and the permits to the itinerary is at the heart of a broker's role. To compare categories, browse our aircraft fleet, in particular the ultra-long-range jets for the leg from Europe.
Bali: Denpasar, the gateway
Denpasar (DPS), known as Ngurah Rai, is Bali's main gateway and the best-equipped for business aviation south of Jakarta. Its single runway of about 3,000 m, rated Category IX (up to the A380), takes every jet category without constraint, up to ultra-long-range. An FBO (ExecuJet), a dedicated general-aviation apron with capacity for about fourteen aircraft and a VVIP terminal opened in November 2022 handle private flights away from scheduled traffic. A landing permit and a parking slot are mandatory, to be coordinated with the handler in advance. Transfers to the resorts are by road or helicopter.
Komodo, Raja Ampat and the islands
Beyond Bali, Indonesia unfolds exceptional destinations, reached by a domestic hop then a sea leg:
- Komodo: Labuan Bajo airport (LBJ), international since April 2024, serves Komodo National Park; its runway of about 2,650 m takes midsize to large cabins, before a yacht or speedboat to Komodo, Rinca and Padar.
- Raja Ampat: Sorong airport (SOQ), international since August 2025, with a 2,500 m runway (737/A320 class), is the base for the diving archipelago; you then reach Waisai by private speedboat (the ferry, about two hours, has only one departure a day most days).
- Lombok and the Gilis: Lombok airport (LOP), extended to 3,300 m, takes wide-body aircraft; the Gili Islands are reached by road (1.5 to 2 hours) then a fast boat.
A Raja Ampat marine-park entry permit (IDR 700,000 for international visitors) and a Bali tourist levy (IDR 150,000 per entry since February 2024) apply.
Seaplane and helicopter: the last leg
Helicopters are already available in Bali for resort and inter-island transfers. On seaplanes, IBC Aviation is an official partner of Siam Seaplane in Thailand (amphibious Cessna Grand Caravan EX, bases in Bangkok and Phuket): the much-anticipated service remains in its launch phase as of mid-2026, subject to approvals and water-landing sites. In Indonesia, several seaplane projects target 2026, none confirmed operational yet: status should be checked case by case at booking. Our dedicated article on Siam Seaplane covers this partnership, which extends our Southeast-Asia presence alongside our Bangkok office.
From Europe, the Gulf and Asia: which jet, which permits?
Flight times are indicative:
- From Europe: Bali in 14 to 17 hours, with at least one fuel stop; nonstop is only realistic on an ultra-long-range jet (Global 7500, Gulfstream G650ER or G700).
- From the Gulf: Dubai to Bali in about 9 hours, nonstop on a large cabin.
- From Asia: Bangkok to Bali in about 4.5 hours, within reach of super-midsize and midsize jets. The link from our Thai bases makes Bangkok the natural staging point for Indonesia.
The real challenge is the Indonesian permit regime: overflight and landing clearances require sequential approval from three ministries (Foreign Affairs, Defence, Transport), with a minimum 48 working-hours lead time, the overflight permit being valid for 96 hours. Add parking allocation at Denpasar (an apron limited to about fourteen aircraft at peak) and aircraft selection for the eastern fields, whose runways cap the category. Sequencing the long-haul jet, the domestic hop and the sea leg into a compliant itinerary is a broker's role. For the choice of aircraft, see our guide on private jet range by aircraft category.

Frequently asked questions
Which airport for Bali by private jet?
Denpasar (DPS), known as Ngurah Rai, with its 3,000 m runway, ExecuJet FBO and VVIP terminal. It takes every jet up to ultra-long-range. A landing permit and a parking slot are mandatory.
How long is the flight to Bali?
About 14 to 17 hours from Europe with at least one stop, 9 hours from Dubai nonstop on a large cabin, and only 4.5 hours from Bangkok, where IBC has an office.
Do you need a permit to fly a private jet in Indonesia?
Yes. Overflight and landing clearances require approval from three ministries (Foreign Affairs, Defence, Transport), with a minimum 48 working-hours lead time; the overflight permit is valid for 96 hours. A tourist levy also applies in Bali.
How do you reach Komodo and Raja Ampat?
Komodo via Labuan Bajo airport (LBJ), then a yacht or speedboat to the park. Raja Ampat via Sorong (SOQ), then a boat to Waisai. These fields cap the aircraft size, often a midsize or super-midsize cabin.
What is the best season for Bali?
The dry season, April to October, is the ideal window for Bali. For Raja Ampat, diving is best from October to April; an itinerary combining both is timed around the shoulder months.
Are there seaplanes in Bali?
No confirmed regular service in Indonesia as of mid-2026. IBC is a partner of Siam Seaplane in Thailand, still in its launch phase. Helicopters, however, are available in Bali for transfers.
