Vietnam by private jet: cities, sites and access
Reaching Vietnam by private jet
The country has several international airports suited to business aviation, spread from north to south. The choice depends on the region you are visiting and your itinerary on the ground.
| Airport | Code | Region served |
| Hanoi (Noi Bai) | HAN | North: Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Sapa |
| Ho Chi Minh City (Tan Son Nhat) | SGN | South: Saigon, Mekong Delta |
| Da Nang | DAD | Centre: Da Nang, Hoi An, Hue |
| Cam Ranh (Nha Trang) | CXR | Coast: Nha Trang |
| Phu Quoc | PQC | Phu Quoc island |
The new Long Thanh International Airport, near Ho Chi Minh City, is due to open in 2026 and to gradually take over long-haul international flights. One point to note: private aviation is more tightly regulated in Vietnam than in Europe, with mandatory overflight and landing permits and appointed ground handling. This is exactly where a broker present in the region, like IBC Aviation with its Bangkok office, makes the organisation easier.
| From | To Vietnam | Approximate flight time |
| Bangkok | Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi | about 1h30 to 2h |
| Dubai | Ho Chi Minh City | about 7 hours |
| Paris | Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City | about 12 hours (ultra-long-range jet, sometimes one technical stop) |
From Europe, these links call for ultra-long-range jets, which you can discover in our aircraft fleet. For a trip combining South-East Asia, Vietnam connects easily with Thailand: see our pages on Bangkok by private jet and the Bangkok-Phuket link.
Cities and regions to discover
Vietnam stretches more than 1,600 km from north to south, with very different atmospheres from one region to the next. Here are the most striking stops for an exceptional trip.
- Hanoi: the capital, its lively Old Quarter, its lakes and its French-colonial architecture.
- Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon): the economic heart of the south, dynamic, between colonial landmarks and a fast-growing dining scene.
- Da Nang: a modern coastal city, its beaches and the gateway to Hoi An and Hue.
- Hoi An: a listed ancient trading town, famous for its lantern-lit streets and bespoke tailoring.
- Hue: the former imperial capital on the Perfume River, with its citadel and royal tombs.
- Ha Long Bay: a landscape of limestone karsts rising from the sea, best discovered on a private cruise.
- Nha Trang and Phu Quoc: the main seaside destinations, beaches and island resorts.
- Sapa: in the north, its terraced rice fields and ethnic-minority villages.
Monuments and UNESCO World Heritage Sites
Vietnam has several sites inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, which often shape a cultural itinerary.
- Complex of Hue Monuments (inscribed in 1993), the imperial city.
- Ha Long Bay (1994), one of the country's most emblematic landscapes.
- Hoi An Ancient Town (1999) and the My Son Sanctuary (1999), remains of Cham art.
- Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park (2003), renowned for its caves.
To these are added landmark monuments such as the Temple of Literature and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi, or the Notre-Dame Cathedral and Ben Thanh Market in Ho Chi Minh City.
Experiences, dining and places to stay
Vietnam's signature experience remains a cruise in Ha Long Bay, aboard a luxury junk. In Hoi An, an evening stroll under the lanterns and made-to-measure tailoring are among the great classics. As for dining, Vietnamese cuisine, from pho to the banh mi inherited from the French period, is matched by a refined fine-dining scene in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
For accommodation, the country has several leading addresses, such as the Four Seasons The Nam Hai in Hoi An, Six Senses Ninh Van Bay near Nha Trang, the InterContinental Danang, Capella Hanoi, the Park Hyatt Saigon and the JW Marriott Phu Quoc. Our teams can fold these stays into the planning of your trip.
When to visit Vietnam
The climate varies considerably between the north, the centre and the south, which do not share the same season. Broadly, the period from November to April is the most popular for travelling across the country. The north, around Hanoi and Ha Long Bay, is cooler and drier in this season, while the south enjoys its dry season. As entry requirements, notably the e-visa, change regularly, it is advisable to check them before departure.
