Ibiza arrivals need a parking plan

Ibiza Airport (IBZ / LEIB) lies 7 km southwest of the town according to the AIP. It has a general aviation terminal and a 2,799 m runway. Arrival timing and ground duration need to be considered together, particularly in summer.

Summer parking depends on two thresholds

From 1 May to 15 October, the AIP requires a stand to be requested in advance for aircraft exceeding 18 m in wingspan and staying more than 3 hours. Both conditions must apply. We check the aircraft’s wingspan and planned ground time before requesting its stand.

Where these criteria are met, the handler requests parking approval before the airport slot request. For the passenger, this means selecting an available aircraft does not by itself settle the return arrangements. We have the parking approval checked against the complete schedule before confirming how the trip will operate.

If the aircraft needs to leave after dropping passengers off, the quotation must reflect that sector and the flight required to bring an aircraft back. We explain the arrangement selected. We do not assume that repositioning will always be necessary or that the same aircraft can wait on the island throughout your stay.

The runway and private terminal

VFR means visual flight rules.

The restriction on jet arrivals and departures under VFR remains relevant even where a general airport description lists both IFR and VFR traffic. The operator plans the flight using the permitted regime and procedures, with suitable crew and aircraft.

The runway length supports a range of possible missions without automatically accepting every jet for every flight. Actual mass, weather, runway conditions and aircraft performance all matter. Luggage and the next sector also influence the selection when several passengers are travelling together.

Night arrivals change with the season

The publication reviewed provides H24 operation through 31 October.

From 1 November, a shorter operating period applies, with extensions subject to prior request.

For a late winter flight, we have the exact hours and any extension confirmed for the date before selecting the departure programme. Passenger reception being available does not replace approval of the aircraft movement. Your travel documents use explicit local times to avoid confusion with published aeronautical times.

Pricing must reflect waiting or repositioning

Indicative light jet rates start at EUR 4,000 per hour. A Phenom 300 may be assessed for your route and luggage. A larger cabin such as the Challenger 350 addresses different requirements, while still needing the relevant airport checks.

Can the jet wait in Ibiza for a week?

Parking approval must cover the aircraft and stay. From 1 May to 15 October, wingspan above 18 m combined with ground time exceeding 3 hours requires the handler to request a stand in advance, before the slot.

Can I arrange a late departure in November?

That depends on the applicable operating hours and any confirmed extension. H24 operation published through 31 October does not automatically continue from 1 November.

Where do private jet passengers meet in Ibiza?

The meeting point is confirmed at the general aviation terminal with the selected handler. The AIP lists two authorised FBO managers for that terminal, separate from the usual airline reception process.
