Ibiza Airport (IBZ / LEIB) has a runway of around 2,799 m that accommodates almost every type of aircraft, from light jets to long-range jets. In July and August, however, it is among the busiest in Europe for business aviation, with several dozen private-jet movements a day.
Three rules then frame operations. The airport is coordinated in the summer season: an instrument flight needs a slot, requested through the ground handling agent, which is compulsory for business aviation. From 1 May to 15 October, an aircraft with a wingspan over 18 m staying more than 3 hours must book its parking stand before the slot can even be requested. In summer, the airport may also ask for a parked aircraft to be moved within 3 hours.
There is no curfew in season: the current Spanish AIP opens the airport to instrument flights 24 hours a day until 31 October, then from 07h30 to midnight, local time, from 1 November. Anticipating these factors is precisely the role of your broker.
