Turnaround limits vary by aircraft reference code

The current AIP generally limits ad hoc turnarounds to 45 minutes for reference codes A and B, 60 minutes for C and D, and 90 minutes for E. Longer periods are exceptional and require prior airport management approval. These ICAO codes are not the commercial categories light jet or large cabin jet.

For passengers, the main effect concerns the return arrangement. A meeting lasting several hours does not establish that the aircraft may wait on its stand for that time. We ask for a programme that fits the authorised ground duration and explain any additional aircraft movements required.

The same consideration applies when you arrive on a scheduled service before boarding the jet. A delay to the first sector may affect the private aircraft turnaround. Give us the connecting flight number so the operator and handler can assess the complete sequence.

3,707 m physically, with two landing distances

Runway 02/20 is physically 3,707 m long and 45 m wide. Landing distance available differs by direction: 3,617 m on 02 and 3,207 m on 20. The operator uses the figure for the intended direction, aircraft mass and conditions on the day. Physical runway length alone therefore cannot validate the proposed mission.

Reception is within the main terminal building

The handler’s arrival and departure guide locates general aviation reception in the main building. Your driver should therefore not assume that a separate private terminal address will be sufficient. The exact meeting point is confirmed for the flight, alongside the formalities relevant to the itinerary.

Published H24 airport and customs availability does not mean that any private jet can be scheduled at any hour. The night regime has criteria for the aircraft to which it applies. We have the selected jet’s situation examined instead of describing either an absolute ban or unrestricted night access.

Raise a hangar or particular technical requirement early as well. The AIP lists neither visiting aircraft hangar facilities nor de-icing. We therefore do not present those services as guaranteed airport equipment for the stopover. If a requirement cannot be met, it needs addressing before confirmation.

Cabin selection and the full quotation

A Citation XLS may be considered for some European flights, depending on payload and luggage. A Challenger 350 represents a different cabin category. Aircraft selection must also support a ground programme acceptable at Lisbon.

Indicative midsize rates start at EUR 4,800 per hour. The complete price reflects the itinerary actually proposed, including positioning and applicable stopover charges. A price quoted for a different nearby airport cannot automatically be applied to Humberto Delgado.

For a return after a longer stay, compare the proposed aircraft movements as well as cabin specifications. Knowing whether an aircraft waits or leaves explains why two offers with the same passenger route may differ.
