Rotterdam The Hague Airport: Private Jets and Rules
Rotterdam The Hague, apply the procedure for your aircraft
A private flight to or from Rotterdam The Hague, RTM / EHRD, requires confirmed ground handling for a non-based jet. The ACNL winter 2026 policy distinguishes aircraft with a maximum take-off mass below 45,000 kg and no more than 19 seats: they are exempt from an ACNL slot request, with local registration still required. Ask us to assess your Rotterdam flight so that the correct procedure is included in the mission.
Our Luxembourg office supports travel across the Benelux region. IBC Aviation is an independent broker: the operator validates the flight while we coordinate the selected arrangements around your programme.
The weight and seat thresholds apply together
The ACNL coordination policy effective from winter 2026 covers IFR and VFR flights. At Rotterdam it nevertheless exempts aircraft from an ACNL request when both conditions apply: MTOW strictly below 45,000 kg and a capacity of no more than 19 seats.
For these aircraft, registration with the airport or air traffic control constitutes allocation under that policy. The exemption therefore does not remove local arrangements. It avoids applying the same coordinator request procedure to every private jet.
An aircraft with an MTOW of exactly 45,000 kg requires clarification from ACNL. Its procedure should not be inferred from a rounded description of “45 tonnes”. The specific aircraft and configuration are needed to handle the case correctly.
Confirmed handling prepares the arrival
The AIP requires confirmed handling for a visiting non-based jet. This is arranged before the flight with the operator, bringing the needs of both the aircraft and passengers into a defined programme.
Parking is limited and the handler may need to tow the aircraft. For a stay, we therefore establish the permitted ground time and movement arrangements. Identifying an available aircraft does not itself secure somewhere for it to remain during your visit.
| Airport | Rotterdam The Hague, RTM / EHRD |
| Non-based jet | Confirmed ground handling before the flight |
| W26 ACNL request exemption | MTOW below 45,000 kg and no more than 19 seats |
| Code D or E aircraft | Specific permission at least 24 hours in advance |
| External Schengen border | General Declaration at least 2 hours before departure |
Larger aircraft require a separate permission
Aerodrome code D or E aircraft require specific permission at least 24 hours before the operation. This is independent of the airport slot. Provisions for an unplanned diversion are not a way to arrange an ordinary planned flight.
The code is a technical aircraft characteristic rather than a passenger comfort category. The operator and handler establish how it applies to the proposed model. We include the outcome in your programme before finalising the trip arrangements.
Your charter quotation for the party also reflects the intended ground stay. A same-day return and several nights locally can require different aircraft movements.
Schengen, submit the declaration before departure
For a flight crossing the external Schengen border, the Dutch authorities require a General Declaration at least 2 hours before departure. The deadline is measured before take-off, rather than before landing at Rotterdam.
Passenger and crew information should be prepared accordingly. Border formalities are separate from both ground handling and the slot process. A last-minute change requires its consequences for the travel documentation to be reviewed.
Provide the countries involved and any airline connections at the enquiry stage. We can then develop the complete itinerary with the documents and reception arrangements required for each part of the trip.
Select the cabin for your Netherlands itinerary
A Phenom 300 may be compared for European travel. A Challenger 350 offers another option depending on cabin space and distance. The actual configuration is checked, including its relevance to the mass and seat rules.
We consider baggage and the whole return programme, without assuming that every aircraft in a category will suit. If your itinerary also includes Amsterdam, specify the order of the meetings: your final destination can change the comparison of ground arrangements.
Budget for the flight, not only an hourly rate
Our private jet charter rates give an indicative category starting point of approximately EUR 4,000 per flight hour for a light jet. This is not the total fare for a trip to or from Rotterdam.
The quote includes positioning and airport fees, together with handling and the consequences of the return programme. Provide your preferred times and length of stay to compare proposals under clear conditions.

Frequently asked questions
Does every private jet at Rotterdam need an ACNL slot request?
The W26 policy exempts aircraft with MTOW strictly below 45,000 kg and no more than 19 seats from an ACNL request. Both conditions must be met. Registration with the airport or air traffic control remains required under that policy.
How much does a private jet to or from Rotterdam The Hague cost?
Light jets start at an indicative EUR 4,000 per flight hour. The total also reflects positioning, airport fees, ground handling and the return arrangements. A quotation assesses these items for the proposed dates and aircraft.
Can the aircraft remain at Rotterdam for several days?
Parking capacity is limited and towing may be required. We confirm the duration and conditions of the ground stay. These arrangements are checked separately from a slot exemption or allocation.
When is the declaration required for a flight outside Schengen?
The General Declaration must be submitted at least 2 hours before departure for a flight crossing the external Schengen border. The required information is prepared with the operator and the flight's service providers.
