Hong Kong Airport: Private Jet Slots, Parking and HKBAC
Hong Kong, three confirmations before departure
A private jet to or from Hong Kong International (HKG / VHHH) needs a confirmed runway slot, an aircraft parking booking and ground handling aligned with those times. The airport operates 24 hours a day, but that does not guarantee any of the three. Our Bangkok office coordinates the arrangements with the air operator and Hong Kong Business Aviation Centre, HKBAC. Have your Hong Kong arrival programme assessed, including the return date and the length of your stay.
Three runways since November 2024
The three-runway system entered service on 28 November 2024. The Civil Aviation Department, CAD, publishes a length of 3,800 m for each runway. Maintenance and operational requirements mean that they are not necessarily all in use simultaneously.
That infrastructure must be distinguished from the capacity available for your flight. A possible runway arrival does not establish a free parking stand for the visit or acceptance of the requested time. Our Bangkok office considers these requirements against the whole programme, including the aircraft’s next flight. Our Hong Kong destination article complements this airport information when planning the visit itself.
| Airport | Hong Kong International, HKG / VHHH |
| Runways | Three runways of 3,800 m, according to the CAD |
| Hours | 24-hour airport, subject to the flight’s confirmations |
| Before operation | Confirmed runway slot, parking booking and handling |
| Business aviation centre | HKBAC, expansion completed in May 2026 |
| CAD application | At least three working days; two weeks recommended for new or infrequent operators |
A conditional slot is still awaiting confirmation
The official August 2025 guidance allows authorised OCS users to request slots within the following 14 calendar days. A conditional response does not confirm the flight.
It starts a further coordination stage for aircraft parking and reception.
Within 24 hours of that response, the operator must apply for a stand through BAPS and arrange handling with HKBAC.
Otherwise, the runway slot is released. We follow the responses with the carrier so that a financial proposal is not mistaken for operational acceptance of the flight.
Arranging both ends of the visit with IBC Aviation
Planning starts with the time at which you need to be in the city.
Our Bangkok office then requests an operator programme consistent with runway slots, parking duration and formalities. IBC Aviation selects and coordinates the charter as an independent broker; it does not operate the aircraft.
If your return time is uncertain, tell us at the outset. Moving it may require several confirmations to be revised. Notifying the crew alone is insufficient. Send us the times your Hong Kong visit must accommodate so that the proposal distinguishes accepted arrangements from those still awaiting a response.
Three working days is an application deadline
The CAD requires charter applications at least three working days before the planned flight.
New or infrequent operators should apply at least two weeks in advance. These periods concern submission of the application, rather than promising clearance within three days.
Private non-revenue operations follow a different category from a flight sold as commercial charter. Our teams have the carrier check which documents and application type are required. Passenger information, the programme and operator documentation must be consistent before the arrangements can be considered complete.
An expanded terminal still includes border checks
HKBAC announced completion of its expansion on 20 May 2026, following the first phase opening in September 2025. The enlarged terminal features a 26 m canopy and co-located customs, immigration and quarantine services.
The business aviation process allows an arrival separate from scheduled passenger terminal circulation.
It removes no entry requirement and cannot establish a guaranteed clearance time. We provide the reception address and coordinate the driver around confirmed handling arrangements, rather than a promotional estimate of time spent in the terminal.
Regional travel and long-haul flying need different cabins
The choice between a super midsize and an ultra long range aircraft depends on departure point, cabin preferences and loading.
A Praetor 600 and a Global 7500 represent different missions; availability must be checked for your dates. The air operator assesses whether the route can be flown nonstop.
For ultra long range aircraft, our indicative category benchmarks are around EUR 9,000 to EUR 12,000 per hour. This is not a Hong Kong-Europe trip price. Positioning, waiting time, airport charges and the services required for the mission belong in the quotation. Our discussion of Hong Kong-Europe flights provides further context for choosing the itinerary.
To align the cabin, permissions and airport arrangements, tell us about your flight to or from Hong Kong.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a Hong Kong International charter cost?
An intercontinental ultra long range mission gives an indicative reference of approximately EUR 9,000 to 12,000 per hour. A Hong Kong quotation should also specify positioning and ground charges, including the stay and selected parking arrangements. This category amount is not the complete rotation price.
Can I schedule a Hong Kong meeting from flight time alone?
No. The accepted runway slot, HKBAC reception, border checks and transfer to your address also need to align. We obtain a flight time appropriate to the departure point and aircraft, then plan the useful arrival time in the city with a margin suited to your programme.
Does a conditional runway slot confirm my flight?
No. Official guidance also requires compatible parking and handling. After conditional runway approval, BAPS and HKBAC arrangements must be initiated within 24 hours; our teams follow confirmation of the complete programme with the air operator before describing the flight arrangements as accepted.
When must the CAD application be submitted?
A charter application must be submitted at least three working days before the intended date. For new or infrequent operators, the CAD recommends at least two weeks; these submission notice periods do not guarantee an approval time. We check the carrier documentation and flight category before the application is lodged.
Is the expanded HKBAC terminal already operating?
Yes. On 20 May 2026, HKBAC announced completion of its expansion and full operation of the enlarged terminal. Customs, immigration and quarantine services are co-located; processing depends on the documentation and checks involved; we do not promise clearance in a few minutes.
