Marrakech Menara Airport

Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK / GMMX)

Around 5 km southwest of the centre, Marrakech Menara (RAK / GMMX) is Morocco's second airport, after Casablanca, with more than five million passengers a year. Its 3,100 m runway, at 471 m of elevation, accommodates every type of aircraft, from light jets to ultra-long-range jets arriving non-stop.

Its immediate proximity to the city places your passengers within minutes of the riads of the medina and the palaces of Hivernage. It is one of the most convenient fields in Africa for a fast arrival at the heart of the destination.

History and modernisation of Menara

Used from the Second World War as a stopover on the route to Casablanca and Agadir, the airport has been modernised several times: the runway was extended in the early 1990s, then the terminals were enlarged. The T1/T2 complex now offers a capacity of around nine million passengers, complemented by a new terminal.

These facilities make Menara one of the busiest airports in Africa for high-end tourism, with services suited to a discerning international clientele.

A private, discreet arrival

Marrakech Menara has facilities dedicated to private flights, away from commercial flows: personalised reception, streamlined customs and immigration, and quick access to the aircraft. Our teams coordinate ground handling and your transfer for a smooth arrival, from the steps of the aircraft to your hotel.

Practical information and access

Allow around fifteen minutes between Menara and Jemaa el-Fna square, the medina or the palaces of the Palmeraie. The airport provides customs and immigration on site and is among the closest to its city centre in Morocco.

Our teams arrange your reception, ground handling and private transfer for a seamless journey. Slot booking and the coordination of formalities are built into our service.

Marrakech, a capital of luxury travel

A UNESCO-listed medina, exceptional riads, palaces, palm groves and golf courses, plus escapes to the Atlas or the coast at Essaouira: Marrakech offers one of the most sought-after holiday experiences in the world. The city also hosts festivals, weddings and high-end conferences that generate strong demand for business aviation.

Two to three hours' flight from the major European capitals, it is ideally suited to the private jet, for a weekend as much as for a longer stay.
