East Africa Business Charter, Nairobi, Kigali, Entebbe
Three countries, one itinerary built around your meetings
A business charter to or from East Africa linking Nairobi, Kigali and Entebbe involves three separate entry assessments, even when the delegation keeps the same aircraft. Nairobi-Kigali is approximately 1h30 flying time, depending on aircraft and conditions, but that benchmark does not define the complete schedule. The Dubai office of IBC Aviation coordinates operators, aviation permissions and ground arrangements. A Kampala appointment requires a road transfer after landing at Entebbe.
Request an East Africa business charter assessment with your meeting addresses so we can plan the flights around the actual appointments.
Why does the Entebbe-Kampala transfer need its own margin?
Entebbe is approximately 40 km from Kampala, according to the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority. The same source describes heavy traffic in the morning and evening. Landing at Entebbe therefore does not mean arriving immediately at the meeting. We ask the transfer provider to review your appointment address and timing before the programme is confirmed.
This distance helps determine the order of visits. A Kampala appointment immediately after landing requires a different allowance from a meeting close to the airport. We show the proposed landing time, airport reception and car departure separately. Your local contact can then flag a road access constraint before the flight schedule becomes fixed.
The requested welcome must also be specific. UCAA describes its government VIP lounge as a facility for officials and diplomats, with prior approval for special cases. Chartering an aircraft does not automatically include access. We confirm services your delegation can actually receive, distinguishing ground handling, commercial lounges and state protocol arrangements.
Which aircraft category and budget suit the three stops?
Our category benchmarks start at €4,000 per hour for a light jet, €5,500 for super-midsize and €6,500 for a heavy jet. These figures guarantee neither a locally based aircraft nor availability at that rate. A quotation accounts for positioning, local charges and any cost of holding the aircraft during your meetings.
Cabin choice depends on the delegation, baggage, temperature and fuel needed for the next sector. A Phenom 300 and a Challenger 350 provide two categories to compare. We ask the operator to validate the actual proposed aircraft at each airport, without treating a model description as an operational acceptance.
Use our aircraft category cost benchmarks alongside the detailed itinerary when comparing options. The starting point matters too. Our Dubai office can assess a programme originating in the Gulf, while Geneva coordinates plans starting in Europe. Flying time and time waiting on the ground are set out separately.
Arrange your East Africa itinerary with IBC Aviation
The Dubai office collects the constraints across all three countries before proposing a charter arrangement. We assess suitable operators for the sectors involved and ask ground handlers to confirm the requested services. Retaining the aircraft may simplify movements, but that preference must remain compatible with traffic rights and current conditions at each airport.
A useful meeting list includes addresses, local contacts and the latest acceptable arrival time. Add the relevant passports, unusual baggage and any changes to the travelling party. These details distinguish a manageable schedule adjustment from a change that requires part of the aviation application process to be revisited.
- Nairobi: airport selection based on international arrival, onward flights and current conditions.
- Kigali: aircraft validation with the required payload and fuel.
- Kampala: confirmed reception and road transfer from Entebbe.
Send your East Africa appointments to our Dubai office. We check the schedule and permissions before confirming the sectors. For a larger delegation, our page on group aircraft charter helps prepare the passenger and baggage requirements before aircraft proposals are compared.
What does Kigali's 1,488-metre elevation change?
Kigali stands at approximately 1,488 metres, according to the official 2024 aerodrome chart. Its runway is physically 3,500 metres long, but the distance available for a specific operation may differ. The Rwandan AIP dated 11 July 2024 distinguishes these figures. We have the operator check current aeronautical information for your flight.
Performance calculations account for temperature, weight and fuel requirements. A cabin that fits the passengers is therefore only part of the decision. We request validation against the actual itinerary, including the flight after Kigali, before confirming which aircraft can support the programme with the planned load.
In Nairobi, airport selection depends on the international arrival, onward flights and current conditions. We have these points confirmed before choosing Wilson or Jomo Kenyatta, covered in our Nairobi airport guide.
Which entry documents cover a regional business visit?
Rwanda distinguishes conferences and meetings, V5 with a published 30-day period, from business surveys, V6 with a published 90-day period, through its Directorate General of Immigration. Passport exceptions still need checking. The precise activity also matters. We coordinate dates with the confirmed entry category rather than assigning the same category automatically to the entire delegation.
Kenya's official eTA portal provides an individual process for travellers who need it, with exemptions. Uganda's consular services distinguish the purposes of a visit. The regional tourist visa is not a universal permission for a business itinerary and does not replace the aircraft's operating permissions.
A meeting and a technical assignment should not be described identically in an entry application. We ask your local partner to state the activity accurately. The final schedule also accounts for crew duty and rest, particularly where appointments may run beyond the planned finishing time.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a Nairobi, Kigali and Entebbe business charter cost?
Our category benchmarks start at €4,000 per hour for light jets, €5,500 for super-midsize aircraft and €6,500 for heavy jets. The quotation depends on the schedule, positioning, local charges and waiting time. These figures guarantee neither a local aircraft at that rate nor a total calculated from flying hours alone.
How long is the flight between the meetings?
Nairobi-Kigali is approximately 1h30 flying time, depending on aircraft and conditions. That indicative duration does not establish the whole schedule: reception and formalities take additional time alongside transfers. Entebbe is approximately 40 km from Kampala, without a guaranteed road transfer duration. We build each stop around the meeting address.
Does an East African Tourist Visa cover business in all three countries?
It is not a universal authorisation for a professional itinerary. The requirements depend on your passport and the activity planned in each country. Rwanda's V5 and V6 categories distinguish meetings from business surveys. We request individual checks, separately from the traffic rights and operating permissions required for the aircraft.
Is Entebbe's government VIP lounge included in the charter?
No. UCAA describes a facility for officials and diplomats, with prior approval required for special cases. Chartering a private jet does not itself give access. We specify which handling and reception services have actually been confirmed, then coordinate the road transfer around your appointment in Kampala.
Can we keep the same aircraft despite Kigali's elevation?
That option needs validation against the actual programme. Kigali stands at approximately 1,488 metres, and its 3,500-metre physical runway does not guarantee every operation. We request performance checks against the payload and fuel, together with the operator's traffic rights for each sector before confirming the aircraft arrangement.
