Frequently asked questions

Why does Koh Samui cost more than the distance suggests ?

Because the airport is privately owned. Landing, parking and handling charges are set by the operator and sit above the published Thai scales. Flight duration alone is therefore not enough to estimate the cost.

Is there an alternative if USM is full ?

Yes. A flight to Surat Thani followed by a fast ferry transfer remains possible, but adds several hours. Depending on the season, a helicopter from the mainland is another option.

Which season suits the island best ?

What formality must be completed before arriving in Thailand ?
