Porto / Douro Porto (OPO) Second airport in the country
Algarve Faro (FAO) Golden triangle golf courses, long runway
Comporta No airport Road or helicopter access from Lisbon

For these links, a light to midsize jet is well suited: browse our light jets fleet and our full fleet.

Lisbon: Cascais, the business airport

Near Lisbon, the reference airport for business aviation is Cascais (CAT), around 12 km from the town of Cascais and about thirty minutes' drive from the centre of Lisbon. Dedicated to private aviation, with its Universal Aviation and ExecuJet FBOs, it has a 1,400 m runway: it suits light and midsize jets, with a super-midsize possible depending on load and conditions. The airfield opens by day, from morning to sunset, with slots on authorisation at the start and end of the range, and closes at night; non-Schengen immigration is arranged on notice. Humberto Delgado (LIS), the main hub, remains an option but runs on coordinated slots and is often saturated. See our Lisbon destination.

Porto, the Algarve and the golden triangle

Porto (OPO), the country's second airport, around 11 km from the centre, opens the city and the Douro valley. To the south, Faro (FAO) is the natural entry point for the Algarve: its runway of around 2,490 m takes jets without constraint, and the golden-triangle golf courses are close by, Quinta do Lago around 21 km (15 to 20 minutes) and Vale do Lobo under 20 km. A private aviation terminal serves the airport.

Comporta and Madeira

Comporta, on the Alentejo coast, has no airport: you arrive at Lisbon or Cascais, then a road transfer of around 1 hour 15 (about 117 km) or a helicopter reaches this corner of pine woods and beaches. Madeira (FNC), finally, is accessible but demanding: its runway extended over 180 pillars and its Category C rating call for specific crew training. It is reserved for qualified aircraft and crews.

Which jet, which access for Portugal?

From Paris, allow around 2 to 2.5 hours depending on aircraft, airport and winds. A light to midsize jet suits most links; Cascais's shorter runway (1,400 m) is the main factor to check by take-off weight, while Faro and Porto take the midsize categories and above without constraint. These times are indicative. We are the ones who arrange the flights and the airport choice, as our guide to the private terminal (FBO) explains.
