Airports and access: Hamad and the old Doha
The main airport, Hamad International (DOH), opened in 2014 and operated 24 hours, has a premium private jet terminal run by Qatar Executive and a Jetex FBO, plus an Amiri terminal reserved for the state and diplomacy. Hamad is slot-coordinated: a slot is mandatory, with heightened pressure during major events. Parking can be constrained at peak demand, with a reposition within the Gulf sometimes needed for the night. The old Doha International mainly serves state and military aviation; private access is checked case by case.
On formalities, the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) issues a landing and overflight permit for every non-scheduled flight, to be filed several days ahead. We are the ones who assemble that file. To understand the private terminal, read our guide to the FBO, and on our role, the added value of a charter broker.
Cultural Doha: museums, souq and corniche
Doha Bay lines up world-class architecture. The Museum of Islamic Art, by I.M. Pei, has been open to the public since December 2008, on an artificial peninsula facing the corniche. The National Museum of Qatar, by Jean Nouvel and inspired by the desert rose, opened on 28 March 2019 on the waterfront. Nearby, the Katara Cultural Village, the Souq Waqif with its traditional life, and the corniche along the bay complete the capital's cultural heart.
The Pearl, Lusail and the desert
North of the city, The Pearl-Qatar unfolds its marinas, luxury boutiques and residential districts over former pearl banks. Further north, Lusail is home to the 2022 World Cup final stadium and the Lusail International Circuit, which hosts the Formula 1 Grand Prix as a night race; the 2026 edition is scheduled for the weekend of 27 to 29 November per the official calendar. To the south-east, on the Saudi border, the Khor Al Adaid desert, an inland sea listed as a nature reserve, rolls out high shifting dunes, best explored from November to April.
From Europe and the Gulf: which jet?
From Europe, around 6 to 7 hours nonstop call for a heavy jet or an ultra-long-range aircraft (Global, Gulfstream, Falcon). From the Gulf, the legs are very short: around 1 hour from Dubai, 1 hour 15 to 1 hour 30 from Riyadh, within a light or midsize jet's reach. These times are indicative and vary with aircraft and winds. Doha is also the base of Qatar Executive, the world's largest owner-operator of the Gulfstream G650ER. Our ultra-long-range jets handle the direct links from Europe.

Frequently asked questions
Which airport for a private jet to or from Doha?
Hamad International (DOH) is the main airport, with a premium private jet terminal run by Qatar Executive and a Jetex FBO, plus an Amiri terminal for the state and diplomacy. The old Doha International mainly serves state and military aviation, and private access is checked case by case.
Do you need a permit to land in Qatar by private jet?
Yes. The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) issues a landing permit for every non-scheduled flight, tied to the approved schedule, plus an overflight permit to transit the airspace. The request is filed several days ahead; our teams take care of it.
How long is the flight from Europe?
Allow around 6 to 7 hours from Western Europe, nonstop with a heavy or ultra-long-range aircraft. From the Gulf, the flight is very short, on the order of one hour to one and a half.
When is the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Qatar?
The Qatar Grand Prix is run on the Lusail International Circuit as a night race. The 2026 edition is scheduled for the weekend of 27 to 29 November per the official calendar. Demand for slots and parking at Hamad is high over that period.
What is the best season to visit Qatar?
The most comfortable period runs from November to April, when the heat eases. It coincides with the peak season for the desert and Khor Al Adaid, as well as with the Grand Prix: booking flights and parking early is then recommended.
