Airborne at 06:00, in Brussels before 07:30

Swiss federal rules ban commercial take-offs from Geneva between midnight and 06:00. The first possible departure therefore lands at Zaventem at around 07:10, as both cities keep the same time. For a 09:00 board meeting in town, that leaves almost two hours between touchdown and the meeting.

Arranging your Geneva to Brussels flight with IBC Aviation

Two permissions, two counterparts. In Geneva, the PPR is booked through the ground handler and its number goes into box 18 of the flight plan. In Brussels, the slot also goes through a handler, never straight to the coordinator.

Zaventem: no slot number, no departure

The Belgian AIP, in its 3 September 2026 edition, lists Brussels Airport as a coordinated airport. An instrument take-off or landing there without an allocated slot is prohibited and punishable, and the slot must be obtained before the flight plan is filed.

For business aviation, the request goes only through a handling agent: the coordinator turns down requests sent to it directly. It then issues a 14-character number, entered in box 18 as RMK/ASL. A flight plan without it is left out of the departure sequence, and between two coordinated airports each number must appear.

Antwerp or Charleroi: closer to the meeting, with rules of their own

For the port or the diamond district, Antwerp avoids crossing Brussels. According to the AIP, its runway is 1,510 m long and the airfield closes at 23:00; between 22:00 and 23:00, only aircraft with a cumulative certified noise level of 263 EPNdB or less may operate. Openings outside those hours are kept for scheduled and medical flights.

Charleroi requires a request 24 hours ahead to its business aviation office and, for any flight from or to a country outside the European Union, Switzerland included, a general declaration (GENDEC) sent to Belgian customs at least 3 hours before arrival or departure. We send it with the passenger list.
