Geneva Airport (GVA): Private Jet, Slots and FBOs
Geneva Airport (GVA / LSGG) lies less than 4 km from the city centre, on Switzerland's longest runway: 3,900 m. Business aviation has at least four slots an hour, allocated by Genève Aéroport no earlier than eight weeks before the flight, and every arrival and departure needs one. At night, Swiss federal rules ban take-offs from midnight to 06:00 and landings from midnight to 05:00. IBC Aviation, headquartered in Geneva since 2012, publishes several prices from the city, including Paris-Geneva from EUR 6,500.

Four slots an hour for business aviation
In Geneva, Slot Coordination Switzerland delegates slot allocation for general and business aviation to Genève Aéroport, which hands them out through its online prior permission system. The local rule, approved by the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation, reserves at least four slots an hour for these flights; the rest of the capacity is shared with the airlines. Requests open no more than eight weeks before the date of the flight.
Each slot comes with a reference number that goes into the flight plan. The aircraft must then operate within a 20-minute window, counted in block times, meaning off-blocks and on-blocks at the stand. An unused slot has to be returned, and a request made without a firm intention to fly counts as abuse. In practice, bringing a return forward or pushing it back by an hour means a new slot: it is the first thing our team checks whenever a schedule changes.
The same rule lists flying with a different aircraft category from the one requested as a misuse of the system. Swapping a light jet for a midsize at the last minute, to fit one more passenger, therefore has to be declared to the airport as well.
Midnight, 05:00 and 06:00: Geneva's nights
The Swiss federal ordinance on aviation infrastructure sets the same limits for the country's national airports: no take-offs between midnight and 06:00, no landings between midnight and 05:00. Between 22:00 and midnight, and for arrivals between 05:00 and 06:00, movements remain possible under conditions, including a noise index. A late return from London or Nice is therefore planned before 22:00, or built around an aircraft whose noise class works for the evening.
On the ground, parking for more than three hours needs the airport's approval. The coordinator's published rules even cap parking at two hours during EBACE, the European business aviation show, whose 2026 edition was cancelled.
Business aviation terminal and FBOs
Private jet passengers do not go through the main terminal: welcome, customs and access to the aircraft all happen in the business aviation facilities. Two FBOs confirm their presence in 2026 on their own websites, Jet Aviation and Signature. The choice often depends on the aircraft operator, and we settle it together with the slot.
Business aviation carries real weight at the airport: its operator put it at around a quarter of movements in 2024, out of 179,107 movements in total, and ranks Geneva among Europe's top three business aviation airports.
The gateway to the Alps
Geneva serves resorts on both sides of the border, and Lausanne is only about forty minutes away by road. For Courchevel, the jet lands at Chambéry, a 45-minute flight away, or the transfer is made by helicopter from Geneva. In Switzerland, our pages on Verbier, Zermatt, Crans-Montana and Gstaad set out how to get there.

Which aircraft from Geneva
With 3,900 m of runway, Geneva rules out no business aircraft. For two to four passengers to Paris, the Citation Mustang is enough; the Phenom 300 covers Brussels and Ibiza with seven seats, the Citation XLS London with eight. For the Gulf, Asia or North America, the shortlist moves to ultra long range jets.
