Parking at Ibiza in summer: one week at most, three hours to move the aircraft

The Spanish AIP, in the edition effective since 9 July 2026, sets three rules for business aviation. From 1 May to 15 October, an aircraft with a wingspan above 18 m staying longer than three hours must book its stand through its handling agent, and the airport slot can only be requested once that parking authorisation is granted. From 1 June to 30 September, an aircraft with a wingspan of 18 m or less may stay on the commercial aviation apron for one week at most.

The third rule catches people out. Throughout the summer, the operator of an aircraft parked on that apron must be able to move it within three hours if the airport asks.

For a ten-day August stay, the quote may take a different shape: the aircraft drops you off, flies back empty to Nice and returns to collect you. Night flights: accepted at Ibiza until 31 October

Nice Côte d'Azur runs 24 hours a day, air traffic control and customs included. At Ibiza, the AIP allows instrument flights around the clock until 31 October, so a departure from Nice after dinner, or a return from Ibiza in the early hours, remains possible in summer.

From 1 November the window narrows. The AIP sets it at 06:30 to 23:00 UTC, which is 07:30 to midnight in Ibiza, with one extra hour on prior permission, which we request for a late return.

At night, one detail matters at Nice too. The departure stands on apron KILO, where business jets park, are closed from 23:00 to 06:00 local time, and the aircraft must then be towed to another stand before leaving: we plan it with the handler.

Nice and Ibiza are some 720 km apart in a straight line.
