Thai Passport: Where You Can Fly Visa-Free by Private Jet
What the passport opens, duration by duration
The gaps are wide. They shape the trip far more reliably than distance does, and a family planning three weeks in Japan sometimes discovers late that the window closes at fifteen days.
| Destination | Visa-free stay |
| Georgia | 365 days |
| South Korea | 90 days |
| Cambodia | 60 days |
| China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam | 30 days |
| Japan | 15 days |
| Brunei, Myanmar, Oman, Taiwan | 14 days |
One practical consequence reads straight off that table. The 30 days granted by Singapore, Hong Kong and Vietnam comfortably cover a business trip or a long weekend, while Japan's 15 days force you to watch the calendar on an extended summer stay.
Japan: 15 days, and an end date
The Japanese arrangement deserves particular attention, because it is not permanent. The 15-day visa exemption granted to Thai nationals runs, in its current renewal, from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027. It is renewed period by period, and its extension beyond that is not settled in advance.
A second condition often goes unnoticed: the exemption applies only to holders of a biometric passport compliant with ICAO standards. A Thai passport that does not meet that standard carries no exemption, and its holder must obtain a visa before departure or face refusal of entry on arrival.
Japan is also preparing an electronic travel authorisation, JESTA, announced for around the end of March 2029. It will apply to nationals of countries currently exempt from visas, Thailand included. The timetable remains indicative and will be checked closer to the date.
Europe and the United Kingdom: two regimes, two lead times
Neither is improvised, and this is where the flight calendar depends on a document.
For the Schengen area, a short-stay visa remains mandatory. The file involves biometric capture and a consular appointment, whose lead time varies with the season. Paris, Geneva and Milan are therefore not reached on yesterday's decision.
For the United Kingdom, the position is stricter than is often assumed. Since 25 February 2026, nationals of many visa-exempt countries must obtain an electronic travel authorisation, the ETA. Thailand is not on that list: a Thai traveller is not eligible for the ETA and must apply for a full Standard Visitor visa before boarding. The approval rate for Thai applications sits at around 89 %, which is high, but the processing time still has to be built into the calendar.
What a private jet changes, and what it does not
A private flight changes the ground experience considerably. You arrive fifteen minutes before departure, you pass through a business terminal, clearance happens separately and the aircraft waits for you. That much is real.
It changes nothing about entry rules. Customs and immigration apply identically, simply in a calmer setting, and no operator, no broker and no private terminal waives a visa. A passenger without the required document is refused entry exactly as on a scheduled flight. Without exception.
We therefore raise formalities before aircraft. On a destination under visa, the date the document is issued sets the flight window, and the quote is built around it. Our teams check this passenger by passenger, children and companions included. Their passports do not always carry the same remaining validity as the head of the family's, and that is a common cause of refusal.
Arranging your departure from Bangkok
Visa-free destinations suit departures decided the day before. Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Indonesia are two to four hours from Bangkok on a midsize jet, and South Korea grants 90 days. Japan takes about six hours and a heavy jet.
To or from Europe, allow eleven to thirteen hours non-stop on an ultra long range aircraft. The alternative is a stop in Dubai, where we have an office. The departure point is set out on our private jet charter in Bangkok and Don Mueang airport pages, and our rate brackets by category in our pricing guide.
The information on this page reflects the position in September 2026. It moves, and each arrival country remains sole master of its entry conditions: we recheck them with every request.

Frequently asked questions
How many countries does a Thai passport open without a visa?
Thirty-five countries and territories according to the Department of Consular Affairs, for stays of 14 to 365 days. The higher figures quoted elsewhere include visas on arrival and electronic visas, which require an application.
Do Thai passport holders need a visa for Japan?
No, within a limit of 15 days and under two conditions. The exemption runs from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027 in its current renewal, and it requires a biometric passport compliant with ICAO standards. Without that type of passport, a visa is needed before departure.
Can a Thai national use the UK ETA?
No. Thailand is not among the nationalities eligible for the electronic authorisation that came into force on 25 February 2026. A full Standard Visitor visa remains mandatory, with an approval rate of around 89 % for Thai applications.
Does a private jet allow travel without a visa?
No. Entry rules are identical to those on a scheduled flight, only the setting differs. A passenger without the required visa is refused entry, whatever the aircraft.
How long should I allow for a Schengen visa?
The lead time depends on the consulate and the season, and it includes biometric capture by appointment. The rule we apply is simple: the date the visa is issued sets the flight window, never the reverse.
