Contemporary art installation in front of the prang of Wat Arun in Bangkok

Bangkok Art Biennale 2026 by Private Jet

Ten venues, three of them temples

The venue list rewards a careful reading, because it sets the shape of the trip. It includes Wat Arun, Wat Pho and Wat Prayoon, three working temples, along with the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, Museum Siam, the National Museum, Silpakorn University, and three commercial addresses: One Bangkok, centralwOrld and Siam Paragon.

That mixture has been the biennale's signature since it began. Seeing a contemporary installation beneath the prang of Wat Arun has little in common with a museum visit, and the contrast is what the curators are after.

There is a practical consequence. Temples set their own terms: covered dress, hours of worship, ceremony days. An itinerary drawn up without allowing for them runs into closed doors.

The river, not the road

Here is the point most guides leave out. Wat Arun, Wat Pho and Wat Prayoon all sit on the banks of the Chao Phraya. Linking them by road means crossing Bangkok at rush hour. Linking them by water is a few minutes on a boat.

An itinerary built around the river for the temple day, then around the BTS Skytrain for the central venues, saves a comfortable two hours over a car-based plan. It is the kind of detail our teams settle in advance, and it separates a smooth visit from a day spent in traffic.

Four months, so no slot crunch

Unlike a festival compressed into three days, the biennale runs for four months. Business aviation therefore sees no saturation peak caused by the event itself.

The constraint sits elsewhere. Thailand's high tourist season covers November to February, and it is also the best weather window. December and January concentrate demand on hotels and on slots at Don Mueang (DMK), Bangkok's business aviation field. November and late February stay quieter while offering the same exhibition.

From Europe, the sector is flown non-stop with an ultra long range aircraft. From the Gulf, a heavy jet covers the distance comfortably. The flight is arranged to or from Bangkok either way, which matters when the biennale is only one stop.

Combining with the rest of the country

Four months of programming allow something rare: you choose your dates. Many of our clients fit the biennale into a wider trip, with an extension south.

A Bangkok to Phuket sector takes a little over an hour, and Bangkok to Koh Samui around an hour. For the less accessible islands, the seaplane takes over. Our Bangkok by private jet page covers organising a stay in the city.

Frequently asked questions

What are the dates of the Bangkok Art Biennale 2026?

From 29 October 2026 to 28 February 2027, four months in all. The theme of this edition is Angels and Mara.

Which venues host it?

Ten venues across Bangkok: the temples Wat Arun, Wat Pho and Wat Prayoon, the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, Museum Siam, the National Museum, Silpakorn University, plus One Bangkok, centralwOrld and Siam Paragon.

What is the best way to move between sites?

The three temples line the Chao Phraya and connect faster by river than by road. For the central venues, the BTS Skytrain stays quickest at rush hour.

Which period should you choose?

November and late February are quieter than December and January, which concentrate the high tourist season and the demand on hotels as well as on Don Mueang slots.

Which airport should you use for a private jet?

Don Mueang (DMK), north of Bangkok, is the business aviation field. Suvarnabhumi (BKK) handles long-haul commercial traffic.
