Two circuits, one audience

The Club Med Padel Cup has covered Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and India between July and November. Its finale, billed as a Grand Slam by the organiser, brings together the players who came through those legs, in Phuket in early December.

The Tatler Padel Series follows a different logic. Attached to the magazine of the same name, it targets a business and collector audience rather than competitors. Its Bangkok leg was held on 22 and 23 August 2026, and its regional final is announced for November.

What these two circuits share is not the standard of play but the audience: executives, families and private clubs, precisely the profile already travelling by business aviation for other reasons.

Why the sport travels well

Padel has a property tennis does not: it is played four to a court, on a smaller surface, and a match takes less time. A two-day trip is enough to play several matches. That suits short diaries, which is the whole point.

The effect on travel is direct. Where a tennis tournament absorbs a week, a padel weekend slots into an existing business trip. That is what explains the growth of these regional circuits: they ask little time of people who have little.

Phuket in late November: two events back to back

The finale's dates repay a close look. Running from 30 November to 3 December, it precedes by only two days the start of the Phuket King's Cup, raced from 5 to 12 December on the same island.

In other words, Phuket International (HKT) takes two international influxes with no breathing space between them, at exactly the point when the Andaman high season begins. Aircraft parking then becomes the real constraint, more so than the slots themselves.
