Private Jet Paris Kinshasa, 6,000 km Nonstop in 7h30
Just over 6,000 km, five countries overflown before the DRC
Measured along the great circle, the two airports are just over 6,000 km apart. Allow 7h15 to 8h00 of flight according to aircraft type and wind, on a track that, at its shortest, crosses the Mediterranean and then Algeria, Niger, Nigeria, Cameroon and the Republic of the Congo before entering the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The airways actually assigned may differ.
Kinshasa stays on UTC+1 and never changes its clocks, which keeps it level with Lagos all year, an hour ahead of London in winter and matching it in summer. Paris and Kinshasa share the same time in winter; in summer, Kinshasa is an hour behind. Take off from Le Bourget at 09:00 in July and you land around 15:30 local time, or around 16:30 in January.
Permits: the AAC/RDC on arrival, ASECNA on the way
The DRC is not part of ASECNA, whose AIP covers seventeen African states, from Senegal to Madagascar. Overflight and landing permission therefore comes from the DRC Civil Aviation Authority (AAC/RDC), which receives requests through its e-Clearance portal, where Kinshasa N'djili (FZAA) is listed.
On the way, three of the countries crossed are ASECNA members. In the case of a private flight, the ASECNA AIP requires prior overflight and stopover authorisation in Niger, Cameroon and the Republic of the Congo, requested a minimum of 2 to 7 days ahead. Each request names the operator, the aircraft type and registration, and the planned dates and times: a change of aircraft or date ripples through all of them. That coordination is what our page on the added value of a charter broker describes.
Visa and yellow fever, checked on arrival
French citizens need a visa for the DRC, with a passport that remains valid six months or more after entry, according to France Diplomatie (page updated on 15 September 2026); for British, Ghanaian or Emirati passports, our teams check the rule that applies. On the e-Visa platform run by the Directorate General of Migration, a request is processed within 72 hours. The e-visa must be used within three months of issue and entitles you, on arrival, to a 7-day single-entry airport visa, extendable, placed in your passport.
Yellow fever vaccination is compulsory. A traveller without a vaccination card is not allowed to stay and is sent back to the country of origin, and health officers check cards on arrival of every flight. France Diplomatie also notes that proof of payment of the "Go Pass" is required when leaving on an international flight; our teams check with the local handler how it applies to a private flight.
At Le Bourget, fuel from 06:00 to 23:00 and winter de-icing
Over 6,000 km the aircraft carries a large fuel load, and the French AIP lists refuelling at Le Bourget from 06:00 to 23:00 local time. For a dawn departure, the refuelling time is therefore set with the operator and the ground handler.
In winter, de-icing may be added before taxi. It is provided at Le Bourget, with equipment available at some FBOs, and the operator builds that time into the departure schedule. Our Le Bourget airport guide presents the business aviation terminals.
N'djili, the main gateway to the DRC
France Diplomatie lists three main entry points into the country: N'djili airport in Kinshasa, Lubumbashi airport, and the Kinshasa river port facing Brazzaville. For an international flight from Paris, N'djili (FIH / FZAA) is the natural arrival point. Our page on Kinshasa airport describes the airport and the secondary N'Dolo airfield; on-the-day operating conditions, fuel and handling included, are confirmed for each flight with the local handler.
Choosing the aircraft for Paris to Kinshasa
Beyond 6,000 km, range alone does not settle it. What matters is the margin left against the wind.
- Heavy jet, the default for this route: the Falcon 900LX, rated on our page at 8,800 km with 6 passengers on board, or the Global 5000, with 9,000 km of range for up to 14 passengers. Starting from €6,500 an hour.
- Ultra-long-range, for reserve and rest: the Falcon 8X exceeds the Falcon 7X's range by 8.5%, and the Global 6000 reaches 11,700 km. From €9,000 to €12,000 an hour.
- Super midsize, not advised here: with 6 hours of flight at most, it would have to land on the way, which adds a stopover permit in a third country.
Our comparison of heavy jets and ultra-long-range jets sets out what separates the two categories.
Paris to Kinshasa private jet price: by the flight hour
Paris to Kinshasa is quoted by the flight hour, with no total or range. Only the hourly rates serve as benchmarks: starting from €6,500 an hour for a heavy jet and from €9,000 to €12,000 an hour for an ultra-long-range jet. On a trip this long, the quote depends mostly on the aircraft's home base and on how it gets back, with the crew waiting in Kinshasa or the jet flying home empty. The breakdown by category sits on our page detailing private jet rental costs.
Lagos, Lubumbashi, Johannesburg: the next leg
From Kinshasa, allow about 2 hours of flight to Lagos or to Lubumbashi, and in the order of 3h30 to 4 hours to Johannesburg, depending on the aircraft. Each stop adds its own permit request. For the way home, an empty leg back to Europe can suit flexible dates, although such departures are rarely confirmed far ahead.
Frequently asked questions
Is yellow fever vaccination compulsory for Kinshasa?
Yes. France Diplomatie states that it is compulsory to enter the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and a traveller without a vaccination card is sent back to the country of origin. Get vaccinated at an approved centre, preferably at least ten days before departure.
How long does a DRC visa take?
The official evisa.gouv.cd platform, run by the Directorate General of Migration, processes a request within 72 hours. The e-visa is used within three months and entitles you, on arrival, to a 7-day single-entry airport visa, which can be extended.
Who authorises a private jet to land in Kinshasa?
The DRC Civil Aviation Authority, which receives overflight and landing requests through its e-Clearance portal. Since the DRC is not an ASECNA member, its rules come on top of those of the countries crossed, including Niger, Cameroon and the Republic of the Congo for a private flight.
Which countries does a Paris to Kinshasa flight overfly?
On the shortest track, after the Mediterranean: Algeria, Niger, Nigeria, Cameroon and the Republic of the Congo. The airways assigned may vary. For a private flight, three of these states, as ASECNA members, require prior authorisation a minimum of 2 to 7 days ahead.
