Yacht and Private Jet

Yacht and Private Jet: How the Combination Works

The yacht and private jet combination: what makes it singular

The value of such a journey lies in the coordination: landing as close as possible to the port, booking the helicopter or car slot, and reaching the quay exactly at boarding time. The table below sums up three hubs where air access and yachting meet.

Hub Airport (code) Marina and access
French Riviera / Monaco Nice (NCE) Helicopter to Monaco in around 7 min
Adriatic Tivat (TIV) Porto Montenegro around 4 km away
Caribbean Saint-Martin (SXM) Relay to Saint-Barthélemy

The broker's role is to absorb this multi-provider logistics, from the jet to the helicopter and from the marina to the driver. For the bespoke side ashore and on board, see our concierge services.

French Riviera and Monaco

Nice (NCE) is the Riviera's main business aviation hub. From there, Monacair, the official operator of the Monaco to Nice line since January 2016, reaches the Monaco Heliport in Fontvieille in around 7 minutes' flight, with desks at every terminal of the airport. Marinas abound: Port Hercule in Monaco, the port of Saint-Tropez, and Port Vauban in Antibes, presented as the largest marina in Europe (around 1,500 berths, including the IYCA section up to 160 m), less than 20 minutes from Nice.

For Saint-Tropez, a nuance of access: La Môle airport, around 15 km away, has a runway of about 1,071 m with no lighting, open by day only and reserved for certain very light jets and turboprops. Depending on the aircraft, arriving at Nice then transferring may be necessary. Discover our destinations Monaco, Nice and Saint-Tropez, and our article on the Monaco Yacht Show.

Adriatic: Croatia and Montenegro

The Adriatic has become a Mediterranean yachting reference. In Croatia, Split (SPU) and Dubrovnik (DBV) serve the ACI network marinas; the ACI Marina in Dubrovnik is around 25 km from the airport. In Montenegro, Tivat (TIV) offers a rare asset: Porto Montenegro around 4 km away, less than ten minutes by car. This marina has around 450 berths, takes vessels from 6 to 250 m, and was the first in the world accredited Platinum by the TYHA. It is one of the few Mediterranean yachting hubs with such direct air access. To widen the region, read our guide to private jet to Croatia.

Caribbean: Saint-Barthélemy via Saint-Martin

In the Caribbean, reaching Saint-Barthélemy calls for precise planning. The runway at Gustaf III airport, around 646 m, takes only small short take-off and landing aircraft, with a specific pilot qualification: no jet lands there. Private jets therefore land at Saint-Martin (SXM), from where a turboprop links Saint-Barth in 10 to 15 minutes' flight, with Winair (Twin Otter) or St Barth Commuter (Cessna Grand Caravan). This is exactly the kind of sequence we orchestrate, as our Saint-Barthélemy destination shows.

Which jet, which access by destination

To the Riviera, allow around 1 hour 20 from Paris and around 1 hour from Geneva, within a light to super-midsize jet's reach; note that La Môle is reserved for very light aircraft. To the Adriatic, around 2 to 2.5 hours from Paris or London, in a midsize to heavy jet depending on the runway. To the Caribbean, a heavy or ultra-long-range aircraft reaches Saint-Martin, then a small turboprop is required for the final hop to Saint-Barth. These times are indicative and vary with aircraft and winds. Lean on our private jet airports pages to plan the arrival.

Frequently asked questions

How do you connect Nice airport to a yacht in Monaco?

The fastest transfer is the helicopter: Monacair, the official operator of the Monaco to Nice line since 2016, links the airport to the Monaco Heliport in Fontvieille in around 7 minutes' flight, then a short ground transfer to the quay. The broker coordinates the helicopter slot with boarding.

Can you land a private jet directly at Saint-Barthélemy?

No. The runway at Gustaf III airport is around 646 m and takes only small short take-off and landing aircraft. Private jets land at Saint-Martin (SXM), then a turboprop covers the remaining 10 to 15 minutes' flight to Saint-Barth.

Which airport for a yacht in the Adriatic?

In Croatia, Split (SPU) and Dubrovnik (DBV) serve the ACI marinas. In Montenegro, Tivat (TIV) is around 4 km from Porto Montenegro, one of the few Mediterranean yachting hubs with such direct air access.

Does Saint-Tropez airport accept all jets?

No. La Môle has a runway of about 1,071 m with no lighting, open by day only, and takes only certain very light jets and turboprops. Depending on the aircraft, arriving at Nice then transferring by helicopter or car may be necessary, to be validated case by case.
