Cape Town in 11h45 from Paris, on an ultra long range jet

A private jet flies from Paris-Le Bourget to Cape Town in around 11h45, and from Dubai-Al Maktoum in around 9h30, depending on the aircraft and the winds. The flight is priced at the ultra long range hourly rate, EUR 9,000 to 12,000 per hour. Cape Town International, 13 km south-east of the city, is open 24 hours a day, customs included.

The calendar matters more than the aircraft. The landing clearance must be requested three working days ahead, and above eight passengers a foreign operator needs a South African permit. From 9h30 to 12h10 in the air: the aircraft for your departure point

Europe and the tip of Africa lie more than 9,000 km apart. Range decides everything. Only the ultra long range category covers that distance in one leg:

• From Geneva: around 11h20.
• From Paris-Le Bourget: around 11h45.
• From London: around 12h10.
• From Dubai-Al Maktoum: around 9h30, the shortest trip to Cape Town from any of our offices.

The Falcon 7X, with a range of about 11,000 km, suits a small party. The Global 7500, with 14,260 km of range, keeps a comfortable margin with a full cabin or headwinds. A heavy jet, whose endurance runs from six to nine hours, needs a technical stop on the way. These trips are billed by the flight hour, with no fixed fare: our private jet charter rates set out each category.

Jet lag, by contrast, barely matters. South Africa keeps UTC+2 all year, with no daylight saving: Cape Town shares the time of Paris or Geneva during the European summer, runs one hour ahead in winter, and two hours behind Dubai.

Entering South Africa: three working days, or 21 days for a larger group

The South African AIP sets out two regimes. A private or business flight, exempt from the operator permit, applies to the Department of Transport for its landing clearance three working days before the flight. Weekends do not count. So does a charter with eight passengers or fewer.

Above eight passengers, the foreign operator must hold a Foreign Operator Permit, issued by the civil aviation authority. Every application is published in the Government Gazette for 21 days, weekends and public holidays included. For passengers, ordinary British, French and Emirati passports are visa exempt for 90 days, according to the Department of Home Affairs. Since 1 July 2026, every traveller also completes an online declaration with the South African Revenue Service, no earlier than 24 hours before take-off. We send you a reminder the day before departure, together with the other private jet customs formalities.

Landing in Cape Town: a 3,201 m runway open day and night

The main runway at Cape Town International Airport (CPT / FACT) measures 3,201 m, long enough for every ultra long range aircraft. The airport, immigration and customs all operate around the clock, so your arrival time depends only on when you leave.

Two AIP rules shape the stop. Every international flight parks on the main apron to clear immigration. A non-scheduled flight that needs a stand notifies the airport operator at least 24 hours in advance, with its times and length of stay. We send that request with the handling booking, and two FBOs provide fuel 24 hours a day on request.

Kruger and the Garden Route: domestic legs need a local operator

Carrying paying passengers between two South African cities requires a domestic licence. A foreign jet cannot take on new passengers in Cape Town for another city in the country. For these legs, we charter a South African operator, as on our Johannesburg to Cape Town route.

• George, for the Garden Route: about 50 minutes from Cape Town, with a 2,000 m runway 6 km from town and no customs. The airfield is open from 06h30 to 19h00 Monday to Thursday, until 20h00 on Friday, and closes at 15h00 on Saturday.
• Skukuza, inside the Kruger: around 2h15 of flying, to a 1,550 m runway open from 09h00 to 15h00 every day, with no customs. JET A1 must be ordered 48 hours ahead.
• Kruger Mpumalanga International: a 3,260 m runway and customs on site from 07h00 to 19h00 on weekdays, beyond that on request, as one of the country's ports of entry.

Cape Town, the peninsula and the gateway to Antarctica

The Cape Floral Region Protected Areas were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2004, and their boundaries were extended in 2015. Offshore, Robben Island, inscribed in 1999, keeps the maximum security prison once used for political prisoners. East of the city lie the vineyards of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.

The city draws business travel too, around one fixture each year. Mining Indaba, the African mining conference, meets at the CTICC convention centre from 8 to 11 February 2027: that falls in the austral summer high season, and those dates fill early.
