Opening the season, the traditional beach polo takes over Deauville's beach, usually in early August, with the exact date to be confirmed on the club's website. Deauville polo is no ordinary event. Founded in 1907, it is one of the oldest polo fixtures in Europe, and its legendary Gold Cup, created in 1950, has seen the finest Argentine and international players triumph. With teams fielded at 14/16 goals, the level ranks among the highest on the continent, earning Deauville a special place on the world polo calendar.
Édouard Carmignac's Talandracas team, led by Argentina's Juan-Martin Zubia, handicap 9, completed the Silver Cup and Gold Cup double in both 2024 and 2025: they are the team to beat in 2026. One point of vigilance: August is the month of the horse in Normandy.
