Cannes Mandelieu Airport

Cannes-Mandelieu Airport (CEQ / LFMD)

Located in Mandelieu-la-Napoule, around 6 km west of the centre of Cannes, Cannes-Mandelieu is reserved for business and general aviation: no scheduled airline operates here. It ranks among the busiest business aviation airports in France, with a main runway (17/35) of around 1,610 m.

Its daytime operations and noise restrictions make it an airport designed for fast, discreet arrivals. The Sky Valet FBO provides VIP reception, ground handling and formalities, as close as possible to the Riviera.

Which aircraft can land at Cannes-Mandelieu?

Since October 2015, the maximum take-off weight has been raised to 35 tonnes for jet aircraft, up from 22 tonnes previously; it remains 22 tonnes for turboprops. This threshold now covers most business jets, from the light jet to the super-midsize, and many heavy jets such as the Falcon 7X.

The heaviest aircraft — some recent ultra-long-range jets — exceed this weight and are directed to Nice. Noise restrictions also exclude a few older types. Our teams check your aircraft's eligibility in advance and determine the most suitable field.

Nice-Côte d'Azur (NCE / LFMN), for the largest aircraft

About thirty minutes away by road, Nice-Côte d'Azur Airport accommodates every type of aircraft without weight restriction, including heavy jets and intercontinental flights. Depending on your aircraft size, your itinerary and how close to Cannes you need to be, we choose between Cannes-Mandelieu and Nice.

The airports of the French Riviera

The Riviera has several fields that our teams serve according to your destination:

  • Nice-Côte d'Azur (NCE): every type of aircraft, with no weight restriction
  • Cannes-Mandelieu (CEQ): closest to Cannes, jets up to 35 t
  • Saint-Tropez – La Môle (LTT): the peninsula, a short runway reserved for light aircraft
  • Le Castellet (CTL): the western Var, near Bandol and the Paul Ricard circuit
  • Monaco: a heliport linked to Nice in a few minutes

Cannes, its events and the Riviera

Cannes-Mandelieu is the airport of choice for the city's major events: the Cannes Film Festival, MIPIM, Cannes Lions and the Yachting Festival generate strong private-jet demand each year. To plan your stay, see our private jet to Cannes page.

The airport also serves Mandelieu, Antibes and Mougins, and is ideally placed to reach Monaco and Saint-Tropez.

Practical information and access

The airport is around 6 km from the centre of Cannes, about fifteen minutes' transfer. In high season (16 May to 16 September), slots and prior permission (PPR) are required for arrivals, departures and parking: places are booked well in advance.

Our teams anticipate these constraints, coordinate ground handling and your transfer, and, if needed, arrange an arrival via Nice.
